Can picking a key up trigger a speech bubble?

I'm wanting to give an explanation to what the key unlocks. Is this possible?

I tried attaching a grab switch, but it's not working.

I haven't tried it, but you could put a magnetic key on the key... now bear with me...

Set the mag key to invisible, and have a mag switch paired to the key and have the sensor range large enough so it's on. Have the switch on inverted, and then hook it up to the Magic Mouth you want to talk.

In theory, the player picks up the key, and then the mouth talks. It's all dependent on whether you can attach a magnetic key to a level key though. Not sure about that, I haven't tested it.

If you can't put a magnetic key on it and a switch to inverted, you will have to do the messier version. Just put a sensor switch right by it and have it set off the magic mouth.2008-12-13 06:42:00

I am pretty sure you can't attach anything to a key, so just set up a proximity switch that activates as soon as the player is within the range they would grab the key and attach to your magic mouth. If you only want it to speak once then rig up a combination of the previous two suggestions so the prox sensor goes off and dissolves a block with a mag key on it that sets off the matching inverted switch that makes the mouth talk. More complex but guaranteed to work.2008-12-13 07:09:00
