Anyone else notice that "Ramp" got over a million plays today?

That's because it's such an amazing level. It took me awhile to realize that all my levels suck because they lack skateboards, and so do all of yours. Ramp is the absolute pinnacle of what can be done with LBP, and puts the developers to shame...

Bahaha, oh man. I've been trying to recreate "Ramp" for the last 2 months, but I've failed every attempt. I just wish the creator would let me copy the level so I could use it as a template Pure epicness But really...every frontpage "cool level" is going to get a play because of the new gamers that think the tool isn't broken, so they try every level on the first page. I know I did, and I even hearted Ghostbusters (which really isnt that bad), and a trophy level if you can believe it. They've obviously been taken off the heart list since then but you get the point

Most people don't bother to remove the hearts later on when they realise how bad some of the levels are. If your a new player, and you see something with 1 million plays, you would likely want to give it a try as well. The physics on it are kind of fun though. But that's because of LBP, rather than the poorly built non-playtested design. If anything, the poor design is encouraging replays, as people try and not do the obvious flipping of the skateboard and finish the thing. So they go back and try it again. Sigh... if only they opened their eyes and looked around.

You're on some wood.....and you jump over some skateboards....Then you pull a switch which makes a rocket on the skateboard go vroom....Then either you make it to the end of the "RAMP" and have to go through this little tunnel where you jump over some stuff, where, if you fall in, you have to use Reset to get yourself out and then walk for 15 minutes down the ramp, and then get to the end, or your skateboard flips over and you fall into some brown crap which then you basically take a shortcut to the end....Which has points at it. That's a very deep and cool level. I wish I woulda thought of that. Now someone is gonna come on here defending the level saying I'm jealous because their level is successful and mine isn't.

Dudes, if you have nothing better to do than to cry about my level, then try to do one that's actually better. I'm pretty sure you'll get about 300 plays compared to my 8 million, but at least you can be "proud" of it. Then again, I'm proud of mine... Proud of mine all the way to the bank, babeh!

Why are we even gracing this topic with responses when there are a bunch of threads on here of great levels that basically no one has bothered commenting on? RAMP is an infuriating example of a pile of crap that somehow, against all odds, made it onto the first page of cool levels and has been a great annoyance to serious and talented creators ever since. Also, seeing as this level is not even from a member of this community might I suggest we move it to another section of the site? Just a thought.

I tend to rate this level '2 star'. It's terrible, THE worst level on the front page. This level has managed to get '3 star' which is the same as 'Sweet Child Of Mine' and 'Little Big Calculator' which are a billion times better.

Well I'm gonna add one more to that plays list As I'm gonna get a pic of me at the beginning with those piled up skateboards That level is as famous as Azure Palace and I want some memorabilia that "I WAS THERE" for in a couple of years when we've finally got rid of it from the cool levels page

Don't get mad at Ramp. It's not the creators fault that the "Cool Levels" system is poorly designed. We all know who's fault that is. What amazes me is the fact that Ramp is still up on the servers. You'd figure one of the million people would have griefed it by now.

Levels like this annoy the hell outta me... They just get in the way of good levels that should be on that top page. I was in the beta, and there were actually - believe it or not - good levels in the top few pages of 'Cool Levels'... Now I've had the retail version of LBP for 2 days, and it is ridiculous how many silly trophy levels there are. Best thing is to just not play them.
