Homefront Demo

Archive: 4 posts

In the latest PSN update on Tuesday, a Homefront multiplayer demo was released. You are able to play for an unlimited amount of time, but you can only level up to level 10 (which takes longer than it does in CoD). In my opinion, it's a step up from the latest CoD, and took the best aspects of it along with Battlefield to get just the right feel. Anyone into FPS's should definitely try this one out. The only downside is you can't play with players who actually have the paid-for version, since for some reason the demo version offers different guns at different levels (i.e ACR from the start instead of the M4). From the start you have the choice of 4 guns (an Assault rifle, a LMG, a SMG, and a Sniper rifle). At level 2 you unlock a SCAR-L assault rifle that shoots in burst fire. You can also see all the attachments and camos that are possible to unlock in the full game, but you can only attach one type of each attachment and certain basic camos (that still look very nice).2011-06-30 20:38:00

I tried it out for a couple of hours just now but honestly it's kinda bleh. Aside from sounding and looking stale the BP system was super-annoying, you have to buy stuff in the middle of a match to use it...? And you can only buy decent things if you're playing well/you're team is winning so I don't get it.2011-07-01 03:13:00

If it took the best things from Battlefield it wouldn't have been a failure. Or at least, not as much. But it didn't.2011-07-01 12:22:00

Oh wow I didn't realize I said that. What I meant is that they took some of the best things from CoD and added a hint of the Battlefield feel. I think it was an interesting game to play, but definitely wouldn't be worth the money to go out and buy it especially with Battlefield 3 coming out.
