Yellow light of death >_<....Right when I was playing mgo...

Even though I got my 360 a year after the ps3, i'm surprised it out lived the ps3 X_x.

that is sad...im terrified that mine will die because i play all my old ps1 and ps2 games on it and since they dont offer backward compatibility anymore on the new ones it would suck big time.2008-12-12 22:10:00

It's my fault. Unlike the 360's Red ring of death, which doesn't give you a second chance.

I was playing Metal gear online and in the middle of a match, the ps3 turned off and began blinking. I was like...oookaay...that was odd...So I turned it back on unknowingly, and gave the controller to my brother since he wanted to play playstation@Home. He met up with his friends for a good hour or so and i thought the ps3 was okay for now. I get back the controller and start up MGO again, I buy my armor from the reward shop and as soon as I get out of the menu. The ps3 turned off by itself and began flashing when I tried turning it on...

So my ps3 over heated, the first time it turned off was actually a warning to leave your ps3 off to cool off. Playing MGO the 2nd time killed the thing...

so yeah...any one who actually does get the yellow light of death. Leave the ps3 alone for a day or two. Even then the ps3 should be looked over and taken care of. (A receipt and a ps3 will give you a free fix from sony...but the bad part is that they won't give back your disk if it's still in the ps3 and your data will be lost.)

same would happen to me overwork.

It's interesting to see a new color actually XD. It's Red -> Green -> Yellow (mixed with orange since it fades to red quickly) -> It will then start to blink red until you press the power button to repeat the process.

I feel your pain...I have a 60 gig myself. I know I have my fully functional ps2, but the upscaling the ps3 games gives the ps2 and ps1 will not be the same...

That sucks man, I'm on my second PS3 but my first one didn't get the yellow light. It just stopped playing disks, so I got a new one for LBP
EDIT:Oh yeah and I'm on my 4thor 5th 360 (lost count lol)

If a 60gb breaks, they replace it with a 60gb.

They also send back your copy or a new copy of the game. My mate waited 6 weeks and then complained that he didnt get COD4 back, so they gave him COD WaW free.

Cant you access the PS Store from a pc? Cause then you could at least get the dlc that way.

I have had a couple of scare recently, two times i have turned my PS3 to be greeted with a message saying there is corrupt files or something and it has to restore. Fortunately everything has been all good after each time it's done this, plus i have all my files backed up on an external harddrive.

Still, it's a 60gb so if it breaks it will suck big time. A lot of my PS2 saves are only on my PS3 and if newer systems arent completely backwards compatible then i might not be able to use those saves again. Hmm maybe i should buy some more memory cards to back them up.

there's a ps2 memory card adapter you can purchase to do that. Or if you have a memory stick (SD or pro-duo) you can back up your ps2 saves on those.

I know this is a weird request. But can any one download the free holiday themed costumes for me?

If any one is interested, please PM me.

It broke yesterday and they are bringing a new 60gb on 30th December.

No yellow light though. It turns on then beeps and flashes red.

Commiserations. I shall also play a game of LBP in your honor over the holiday season. Once I've finished Dead Space.2008-12-22 18:59:00

I would rather wait to get my 360 back in the 12 days it took mine then have it in good condition then to have to leave it alone for 1-2 days every other week (Because I am a heavy gamer I would probably over-heat it every other day) so yea :3 rather wait the 12 days then wait about a month rounded up in the year. but yea I hope I do not get yellow lighted

I've had my 360 since December 2005 and I haven't gotten the RROD, and I've only had my PS3 since December 2007, so I'm hoping I won't get the YROD.2008-12-23 15:09:00

anyway, @ moleynator:
AFAIK, 60GB launch PS3's are out of business, so I don't think you'll get a 60GB sent back when yours is broke.

I've barely gotten any 360 games this year. 5 at the most. I only remember getting three 360 games this year (two were from Christmas). I'm a PS3 fanboy. And I've had it before I ever got the PS3, so why get rid of it?
