SlideMe Market For Android

Archive: 1 post

Alright, so the bottom line here is that I am trying to download these emulators to my Evo 4g (Sprint), but I am running into some problems. These emulators were created by this guy who goes by Yongzh. He was kicked off the Android market after one of the big three requested that he be taken down. After that, he moved all his emulators to this third party market called, SlideMe. For a limited time they will all be free (untill the end of this week I think), so time is sort of a factor here.

First Question: Is SlideMe safe to download? Everyone I talk to says yes, but when I downloaded it, it asked for permission to access info about location, phone, internet and sd card info (ability to manipulate).

Second Question: There is a download "button" next to the apps on SlideMe's website, but when I download the files, my android can't read them. What's keeping the phone from being able to run the emulator or recognize the file for that matter?

Third Question: If I decide not to download the SideMe market, is there somewhere else I can get the GBC, SNES and GBA emulators?

Fourth Question: Does anyone know of a safe site to download ROMs from? And I mean a SAFE site. Every site I get recommended has been linked to questionable sites.

My phone is brand new, so I am trying to be as careful as possible when it comes to downloading third party applications. Any help is appreciated!
