Watch my little pony friendship is magic.
I'm serious. I used to be very down until i found this show. It's very nice and most of the people who watch it are over 18 and are males (that don't like their own gender in that sort of way, you should know what i mean).
i'm 14 and watch it.

Other then that, listen to music, try to laugh, spend time with friends.

It really depends on why you're depressed, but from experience the best way to fight it is change.
Find something to change your routine, anything; find some easy hobbies, go for a walk around the block once a day, try to meet some new people and get out of the house as much as possible.

The only problem is that this stuff can be bloody difficult when you're depressed. When I was depressed I was desperate to find some friends I could relate to better, and it wasn't until I came out of depression that I realised they were within arm's reach the entire time.

Also remember that depression will never disappear overnight as much as you might want it too, it can be a slow process but you'll start getting better relatively quickly once you find a successful way of fighting it.

I have found the only way to combat depression is to bring yourself to the lowest opinion of humanity so that nothing can possibly raise your spirits so you feel better and thus let you down, then crawl into a hole and shut out the rest of the world as you delve into a fantasy world.

Reality is the biggest depressant. :kz:

For me its always been loud music and chocolate.
Goofy movies like Suburban Commando and Future Cops.

And Discworld books did the trick too, only now I ran out of ones to read.
Those book take everything in the world lightly and are very funny.

That and playing one of my favorite addictive games with laid-back difficulty, such as Katamari.

But I also cook it can be relaxing or too hectic to have time to think.
And I go for walks and exercise.

Often takes all of these together to keep me from becoming a world-hating hermit.

Oh and umm, don't drink alcohol. I'm suprised so many people do when they're depressed, despite alcohol being a depressant.2011-06-26 23:03:00

I'm quite depressed and the last thing I would do would be become addicted.
That would mean that it's really over if you rely on substances (pills, drugs, alcohool) to be happy.
I actually prefer to be torn apart and be myself than just being someone else.

I had a pretty severe case of depression a few years back, so I can relate what you're going through. A mix of bad people, wrong decisions and loss will mess you up pretty good, but yeah, no one cares, right? Okay! Advice!

One of the best ways I can think of that helped me was to find a creative output and really pour your soul into it. For me it was writing music and (at the time LBP.) I spent hours and sleepless nights tweaking my levels and the payoff felt great! Find something you love to do and really have a good go at trying your best at it, who knows where it could take you in the future?

Also, and trust me on this one, it gets better, like, ALOT better. (I assume) You're a teenager, and being a teenager sucks. There is no real magical cure to snap you out of your depression, it's just something you have to fight through on your own and hopefully come out stronger, but even a year from now, things will be better.

And, if all else fails, listen to this song, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTJ7AzBIJoI) TRUST!

Really depends of the way you are. But I heard a good number of people liked to watch the http://www.youtube.com/user/SHAYTARDS (Shaytards) because they're a family with an optimist way of life. Maybe it could help you? Plus, it's funny. 2011-07-01 06:20:00

Eat bananas.

Seriously. They contain high levels of serotonin and dopamine, the brains natural "feel good" chemicals.

Regular exercise will help too, as it gives you an endorphin boost.

Calm down, calm down. I guess my sense of humour is a bit messed up yes, but it was never serious. I would never actually do anything like that.

how does she know that? You dont know eachother, so you can never tell if someone is lieing in posts like this. Alot of the bullys can only find happyness in others pain and suffering. Im not saying you are one of those people, but you would never know what someone is like in real life when you only see the words they write.

Back on topic, I feel happy with LBP and RC cars (not the toys r us ones) I also like music.
Just experiment with hobbies and things to keep yourself ocupied. Most likley you will feel beter and make new friends. After joining LBPC and using the dive in in lbp, i met a few friends online.

I'm not really getting your thought process here. "He said something in a completely unserious manner! That must mean he enjoys it!"

Anyways, you need to be sure that you actually suffer from depression and that you aren't just hitting a rough patch in your life. You should probably see a psychologist and see if you actually have depression.

Oh, and to Shrapnel, you're American so I'm going to assume you don't know where the original joke comes from, but I can't be bothered to post it... xD Search "Calm down dear" and follow the stuff relating to Michael Winner and David Cameron... 2011-07-05 00:24:00
