Rayman Origins E3 2011 Demo in LittleBigPlanet 2
Archive: 17 posts
Hello everyone, First of all, i'm french so excuse my bad english full of grammar mistakes. I've started a project yesterday i had in mind for a few weeks. I think a lot of you have seen the E3 2011 demo of Rayman Origins played by Michel Ancel during the Ubisoft Conference (you can watch it here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQX_6ovlPdU ). My project is simple : trying to re-create this demo using the LittleBigPlanet 2 editor. After a few hours of tests, here's the first screen of what i've managed to do : http://insolite.blog.weareplaystation.fr/media/00/02/1006386428.png It's not the final version but i think i won't be able to make a lot of changes because the stickers are starting to act weirdly... I'll update this post with news screens as soon as possible, and i'll let you know when a playable version will be available. | 2011-06-26 18:22:00 Author: Unknown User |
Looks pretty cool, but perhaps you should call it Sackboy Origins? | 2011-06-26 20:31:00 Author: Jakest123 Posts: 319 |
nice you got it dead on | 2011-06-26 20:51:00 Author: supertwinbros14 Posts: 69 |
You managed to recreate the artsy style superbly, excellent work! I cant wait ti get my hands on this. I must ask though why did you use the LBP fabric tree on the right rather than an enlarged version of the tree on the left. | 2011-06-26 20:56:00 Author: Darkcloudrepeat Posts: 606 |
You managed to recreate the artsy style superbly, excellent work! I cant wait ti get my hands on this. I must ask though why did you use the LBP fabric tree on the right rather than an enlarged version of the tree on the left. Because when i try that, the stickers in the background start to disapear or blink, and i don't know why... i've already try to delete some stickers in the background but it does the same thing. I hope i'll find a solution... | 2011-06-26 21:18:00 Author: Unknown User |
That picture looks stunning! Very well done cant wait to see the final product! | 2011-06-26 21:32:00 Author: Unknown User |
You could also try to add those doll heads from LBP1 to the background instead of stickers for the trees in the middle. And is that a waterfall on the right of the original picture? 3d bugs and the merge tool shall be your friends. | 2011-06-26 22:01:00 Author: Saku401 Posts: 83 |
C'est magnifique! Sorry, I don't speak french...it looks really good. The last Rayman game I played was on the Dreamcast...I'm looking forward to the new one. As for your sticker issue, I've always found large stickers to be more problematic than lots of small one. Maybe chopping up the big stuff like the mountains will help. | 2011-06-26 22:17:00 Author: fullofwin Posts: 1214 |
That looks great. Really good job using the foreground and background glitches to bring it to life. Only thing I would suggest is giving the open grass area a little more life. Might even be enough to just move the statues more into the foreground like in the game pic. | 2011-06-26 23:22:00 Author: anthman852 Posts: 66 |
Really great so far. Creating identical animated characters would bring it to the next level... | 2011-06-27 07:24:00 Author: Unknown User |
Thanks for all your feedbacks. I really appreciate it Here's a quick screenshot from an updated version : http://tof.canardpc.com/view/aed216b4-f9f5-4ce5-9744-b555cd59f85d.jpg It's a lot better in-game, with special effects and motion. And here's a screen showing what i'm working on (not finished at all, it's an early version of the chase sequence) : http://tof.canardpc.com/preview2/50658cca-b1f4-47ee-a6d5-4bf2b3097cb7.jpg | 2011-06-27 22:28:00 Author: Unknown User |
I am not really sure about using that wire glass thing for the backdrop, but the platforms look nice. Also great job on the new update! When you have a chance for testers please message me on PSN! | 2011-06-27 22:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
New screens from the chase scene : http://insolite.blog.weareplaystation.fr/images/raymanlbp3.png http://insolite.blog.weareplaystation.fr/images/raymanlbp4.png http://insolite.blog.weareplaystation.fr/images/raymanlbp5.png I know this is far from perfect, but i have to face a lot of technical issues. The challenge for me for this scene is more "technical" (trying to recreate all the scripts of the chase) than "artistic". A playable demo will be available this week end. | 2011-07-05 22:29:00 Author: Unknown User |
I've published the first two parts of the demo, it includes the intro and the chase sequence. It's a "beta version" for the last one, there are still some bugs and scripts problems, but you an try it here : http://lbp.me/v/2zbj48 and http://lbp.me/v/2zgkek The levels are for one player only and you have only one life in the chase sequence ! Now i'm working on how improving the details, and correcting the bugs. | 2011-07-09 22:19:00 Author: Unknown User |
