Blender (http://www.blender.org/) is a great 3D modeling engine, gaming engine, and physics engine. There's tons of tutorials on it, so you should be able to learn it in no time.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Blender is freeware.

i highly suggest maya, blender has very litte tutorials online in my opinion. also maya is easier to use and has multiple ways of creating certain things.2011-06-27 03:00:00

Aye, I thought Blender was only for Linux... Now I know, I might try it on my Mac now!2011-07-05 13:30:00

I agree about blender not having enough tutorials.
Especially for the game engine.
Most my searched ended in absolute basics you learn just from opening to program or people just giving away bad templates without teaching you anything.

Blender is a great program. However, I recommend finding a cheat sheet with all the keyboard shortcuts because Blender is based heavily on them. Knowing the keyboard shortcuts will make your workflow a lot easier.2011-07-05 14:56:00

Call me a madman, but this (http://www.udk.com/showcase-architectural) may help. Blender is the better option though. If you have some money to drop 3DS Max (http://usa.autodesk.com/3ds-max/) is an amazing piece of software.2011-07-06 09:05:00
