You can buy a high quality microphone with a USB cord/adapter then place a cloth over the microphone so that you don't get spit and air sounds in the audio.2011-06-24 22:47:00

It's not your mic. Dont buy a high quality mic yet. It is LBPs online compressor that makes it low quality.2011-06-25 01:15:00

Then how do some people have good quality voice acting when they make movies?

I have personally never heard a high quality VO, and I have heard of people putting music from an ipod directly onto LBP and it being staticky and garbled. I was just trying to stop you from wasting money m8.2011-06-25 05:55:00

Put a cloth or fabric sheet over your mic, this blocks air and spit from hitting the microphone and making noise.2011-06-25 07:31:00

It's not the mic indeed. Your mic's quality is the last of your worries, extremely high compression makes every recorded sound hissy. I too am wondering which high quality recordings there are on LBP!2011-06-28 07:40:00

I'm no expert or anything but if its just to block wind and spit, probably anything would work as long as its not too thick2011-06-30 04:31:00

A cloth or high-quality microphone is useless for LBP2. The audio will be compressed and therefore be low quality no matter how many thousands of dollars you spend on high-fidelity audio equipment.

There have been many nice recordings, guess you guys just dont play enough levels

And Schmo, the cloth does help masking some bg noises.

True, but if you're concerned with recording any sound and want it to sound good, background noise shouldn't be a factor to begin with.2011-06-30 14:10:00

...background noise shouldn't be a factor to begin with.

What's being suggested, i.e. a pop filter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pop_filter), isn't to remove background noise, but to minimize clipping distortion from typical human speech.

TBH, though, simply placing the mic slightly to the side of your mouth, rather than directly in front, works pretty well also.
