Using water to make rain

Has anyone implemented rain into their levels, because out of the ones I have seen, I don't think it has been made possible. I hope someone proves me wrong. I just want to know if it's possible and the lbp.me link to the level that has included it.2011-06-24 20:01:00

It is not impossible, but it caused a lot of lag when I first tried. Basically you just use emitters to emit water drops.

I haven't tried it yet, but I think it would work better using my CCS or something similar. You could set it up so it is only raining over your screen and depending on how much rain you want it could cut down on the lag. As long as you have the emitter ignore parent velocity I think it would look pretty good.

Aha! I know what to do! Add a "rain" tool to the world tweakers. You could have rain in different parts of your level if you wanted. As for making water with rain, that results in lagging if you use emitters (which is the only thing you can use).

I have a pretty awesome rain effect i worked on for a long time. no lag, all 3 plains. check out my level downpour.(the name kinda suggest rain) http://lbp.me/v/2-gmtg



An easy way to get rid of lag with a rain is to use a randomizer for every 10 emiters. i have 30 emiters and 3 randomizers. and about 13 rigs in the level. add me as a friend and i'll give you a rundown

You could just make a 10-30 big grid long piece of hologram and have like 10-15 emitters on it. Put another holo facing up glued to the other holo with the emitters and make it follow the player. Not to bad as far as lag is concerned (I think)2011-06-30 03:16:00

Probably try like making emitters and post water in side but make them sideways! and some wind! Plus play my lvl Cheese Trap!
