Injuries. Everyone's had them. Share your injury from...Anything. On the job, home, sports, play, whatever.

I sprained my wrist last night, playing baseball. I was running to first base. He was covering the bag completely. I ran right into him lol. Anyway, I landed flat on my back, did a flip (I'm lucky I didn't break my neck), right on to my wrist, bending it back REALLY far. Got up, and kept stealing bases all the way to home!

I had one of my front adult teeth knocked out of it's gum, still hanging on but loose enough that it could touch the inside of my mouth, think about that for a moment. Having to try and get sleep that night was the hardest part since nothing could be done about it until the next day, it's all good now though, you can't even tell the difference.2011-06-24 08:39:00

Just last week I took a nasty spill and broke my radius, plus got 4 stitches in my chin. Got the stitches out today and upgraded from a wrapped splint to a permanent water-proof cast. Gravity can't stop me from swimming over summer!2011-06-24 08:49:00

Well, when I was in Primary 2 (6 Years Old) I kept on jumping off this wall and interupting the little Primary 1s game, there were about three of them. So the boy of the three took my head and slammed it into the edge of a wall. So I burst my forehead but it wasnt too bad, DANG thats where those brain cells went.2011-06-24 08:58:00

When I was 7 years old I was hit by a drunk driver while crossing the road.
I broke my left leg, my left arm, fractured my skull and bit half of my tongue off.
Was hospitalised for 6 months and walked on crutches for the next year.

Against all medical probability - my tongue grew back - which certainly surprised the doctors, as they were telling my Mum that I would have problems speaking for the rest of my life. I can now contort my tongue in unusual ways... which my girlfriend seems to like

Any advance on that?

I think the worst injury I ever got was caused by being a dofus on a skateboard. I forget when this happened. I must've been in my really early teens or something.

Y'know how some pathways are made out of slabs, that are smooth enough to skate over, but sometimes each slab isn't perfectly level with the next? Well, I was just cruising down one of those, one night, and, for whatever reason, I thought it would be cool to showoff skating with my hands in my pockets. The front wheels hit the side of the next slab, which was higher than the one I was currently on, and I was catapulted forward. With no time to remove my hands, I went face-first into the ground.
Fractured my nose. Now it sits ever so slightly squint. Nobody's ever pointed it out to me, bar my mum, presumably cause it's really hard to notice, but I do notice it in the mirror almost every time I look.
That, and it feels odd. One side feels normal, while the other feels like it has a hole in it.

Other than that, I've never been in a hospital for an injury. Nor have I ever really gotten hurt, beyond the usual scratches and scrapes most kids get.

I remember another.

Ya know how some people's elbows bend back further then they should? I know why mine can. I was about 6, and I was at a friends house swinging. I jumped off at the max height of my swing. I landed palms to the ground, arms straight, taking FULL impact. God that hurt.

I remember, when I was 9 or something,
I was racing fullspeed with mah bike.
And then suddenly my front wheel blocks or something
and I was wiped over the handlebars of my bike, crashing my knee into a rock.

Sprained my pinkie toe.
I smacked it against the leg of a stand in our living room. My parents laughed at me when I said I thought I sprained it.
Then I got revenge pity a few hours later when the blood was seeable under the skin.

Yes, not as "Marvelous" as some of yours, but I prefer not to put myself in the hospital.

I've got another.

I was playing first base, at a practice. I was 9 or 10, and the coach was pitching. Someone hit it to the coach. He told me to "use both hands". My pinkie finger was sticking out from my hand NOT inside the glove. The ball smacked right into it. It didn't bend at all when it got hit, it was more like a spring. It hurt like ****!!!! And my coach and parents still expected me to hit. My pinkie was 2 times the size of the other finger.

You must be 24/7 in the hospital.

Aside from that, I once burnt my right hand in the fireplace.

I was at my primary school for a football/soccer camp thingy, 9-3, Mon-Fri. I stupidly went onto the concrete playground and tried to kick the ball to one of my friends. I had my studs on and as I kicked I fell back onto the hard ground, knocked my head and concussed myself, also caving in my chest at the same time. I woke up like one of those unreal movie scenes, where everyone is crouched over you. I staggered inside and told the coach, he said it was probably nothing and told me to relax for a few minutes. Half an hour later I was out there playing for 2 hours even though I my ribcage was collapsing in on itself and just I kept on going. When my mum found out after camp finished she went ballistic rushing me off to the doctors, we walked for a mile or so before she remembered that they were shut on Wednesdays, lmao.

Or that time when I was 7/8 and I came back from school on a Wednesday (unlucky day for me rofl) and got a huge wedge of glass stuck into the arch of my right foot (I still get really bad pains there even now) and had to go to the hospital for x-rays. The doctor kept asking what colour glass it was and I kept saying "It's translucent." seeing as that was what I learnt in science on that day, lmao.

Apparently I was 2 when I smashed head first into the corner of a glass coffee table and cut my left eyebrow and had to have stitches. I still have a scar there, and my hair hasn't grown back. :L

Can't think of any more at the moment.

That happened to me!! I was playing Basket Ball at my cousin's house, and he threw the basket Ball at me, and I had my hands out to catch it, and it hit my pinkie and it swelled up, it was blue, and it hurt so BAD!!! LOL!

The worst injury I've gotten was when I tore, separated and sprained my left shoulder in one day. It was at a football game and I didn't get it checked until 6 hours later. The doctors put me on Vicodin and these horse pill painkillers for a month. I was also put in a sling for a month. That's not that bad compared to you more accident-prone people .

My most recent one was stepping on a hot coal with my bare foot. I'm still contemplating on whether or not to pop the big blister that has formed. Most of my injuries have been with hot things; I've burnt my tongue so many times that I've lost all taste in tip and upper half of it.

Any scab that was longer than half an inch has resulted in a scar. I've had one scar on my elbow turn 5 different colors in one day. That scar is still there, even after 8 years. I also have a scar on my leg from football practice last year. Bits of rubber are still in there.

Sometimes I randomly step on thumbtacks or nails and don't notice them until an hour later. This has also happened with glass Christmas ornaments and shattered plates as well. xD

I've bonked my head into so many things that I don't even get headaches when I headbutt someone. Or if I get a blow to the head, for that matter.

when I was nine, I was climbing a tree and went to grab the next limb, missed and started sliding down the tree while bear hugging the trunk. My left arm got caught on a nail and I was hanging by just my arm. I had to climb up and unhook my arm and then climb down. I had a 157 stitches put in my arm.

Then just today I was unhooking an implement from my tractor and the stabilizer bar slipped and slammed my finger down on something causing a big hunk of meat to come off of it. still hurts

Well, i've got rather a long list to display. In chronological order:

Cracked my head open at Charlie Chalks playhouse when I was 8
Fell onto my PS2 on new years 2002, breaking my rip. Same night burnt my elbow on a hot plate and still have the scar.
Broke my wrist doing a jump on my bike.
Broke my leg doing a jump on my bike.
Broke my toe skateboarding.
Broke my finger jumping into a pool.
Broke my thumb sledding.

That's all so far! XD

A week ago I crahesd into a fence with my bike.
I dunno why but I started laughing afterwards.

And I seem to cut my fingers every week in class,
while we are getting religious education.

Once I craved two spikes from my bike's gear into my leg. It was so deep that I still have the scars.

I also tried to do a crazy jump into a river twice. On the first try I almost broke my leg and on the second a slipped and almost broke my neck... Then I gave up.

Way back in my first year of primary school, a year 6 (Final year @ Primary) lifted me upside down and dropped me on my head. I chipped the front of my tooth and had a lump on my head, to say the least.2011-06-30 07:32:00

That, and it feels odd. One side feels normal, while the other feels like it has a hole in it.

Other than that, I've never been in a hospital for an injury. Nor have I ever really gotten hurt, beyond the usual scratches and scrapes most kids get.

I'm sure that now that it over with it seems quite humourous. About the nose thing, I have that problem myself as I had fallen asleep on a bench; my little brother was running races with his friend, eventually I went to roll over and fell off the bench at an angle to where my brother had kicked my nose full velocity. I was quite scared at the time, as there was blood spewing out, but I was a bit of a wimp then anyway.

Aside from that I think the worst I've ever had was when I was a wee lad (maybe two or three), I was walking down this huge flight of concrete stairs with my father. Well, anyway he turned his head for a second to look at some odd thing (and we were still towards the top of the flight mind you), and I tripped. Tumbled down the entire flight, I did. Anyway, I turned out fine with minor scratches and bruises at most, rather lucky I didn't end up with very much brain damage. Nonetheless, I don't think any of my injuries really got me hospitalised very long, rather lucky really.

I was crushed between a big cussion and a wall while playing around with gym.
Sadly enough the wall was harder than we suspected.
It was stitched afterwards and I has a scar on mah head but you can't see it.

This made me reflect about grave injuries I might have sustained during my 18 years of life and nothing too bad occurs to me. Never broke a bone, got a 1 inch deep gash or something that prevented me to sleep, breathe or eat properly. I do remember quite some bruises, scratches or bee stings but everyone has pleny of that. I sprained an ankle on two occasions, but it wasn't too serious as the limping only dured a day or two.

Hm. I must be the most cautious person I know.

Got braces have like 3 mouth ulcers, UNDER my tongue! On the part with no tastebuds. Geez it hurts! Other than that the usual scratches... WAIT!

I was at basketball camp, and I was smacked in the head to two days in a row on my open eye. Guess what? Everyone laughed.

Also there, we had one on one, and after 30 freakin' rounds I made it to the semis. They said that they'd ref 'fairly'. He tripped me, and played D on me, no was PUSHING MY FREAKIN' back. So yeah... That's fair
