a couple of logic questions

Archive: 5 posts

Let me just preface this by saying that I stink at lbp logic.

question 1: what do I hook up to a music box so that I can turn it on and then off? I've tried many different combinations of switches and can't seem to figure this out. I want to jump on a button to turn it on and ideally, jump on the same button to turn it off.

question 2: In LBP1 we had the option on buttons and switches to set it's output to directional. How do I achieve this now? I want to grab let's say a sponge and the winch or piston raises. when you let go, it returns to starting position.

Thanks in advance.

For #2 I believe those options are on the piston or winch. Set input to forward/backward and that should do the trick.2011-06-23 21:01:00

For #1, I would use a two port selector. Hook the secod output from the selector into your music box. Then simply hook the button to the cycle input of the selector (located on the bottom of the selector). This makes it easy to add music if you want as well. Just tweak the number of ports on the selector and hook them up to each individual music box.2011-06-23 22:01:00

Hi.
For your question I think I know whats wrong. Using a selector IS the way to go. I'm guessing you can stand on the switch and the music starts to play but when you stand on it again it stays playing. The trouble is that when you start the music going it keeps playing.
The solution is to have your switchs output wire into the cycle tab on a 2 port selector (as already mentioned) and have port 2 on the selectors output go to your music box. Trouble is you need to now 'clear the sound channels' that are already playing. so place a blank MUSIC SEQUENCER below the one playing the music. and wire the first selector ports output into this . On this blank music sequencer, place a SEQUENCED INSTRUMENTS with no notes on it.
Thats it. Now when you activate the switch once the music will play, but, when you activate the awitch again, it selects and plays the music sequencer with the 'null sound' on it and this clears the sound channels. Press again- music, etc.
