Community Project: LBPC Chessboard

Archive: 300 posts

For all budding and non-budding artists out there.
This is a community project and at the end, we will have a nice picture.

Here is the starting piece, followed by the rules. The current entry will be towards the end of the topic.

Rules

- You must fill 1 square. No more, no less.

- If there is a grey outline around your box, you must fill it in (At the thicker edges of the grid, only draw on the inside pixel/s)

- You must say when you are taking a turn, and when you have finished your turn. This is so other people know if they can have a go or not.

- If you say you are taking a turn, but do not submit your piece within 2 hours, your turn is invalidated, and it goes onto the next person.

- You can only say you're taking a turn AFTER the last person has posted their edit.

- Try to make your piece fit in with any surrounding pieces.

- PNG File Format only! (Important >=O)

- Try to upload to somewhere such as tinypic in necessary.

- Pixel art only. This means you can use MS Paint too.

- Do not modify anyone else's block unless you have that person's permission.

If there's any confusion regarding the rules, just ask. The squares are deliberately small, so it's easier for the "less artistic" to join in too.

Basically, if you want a turn, just say you'll have one, then copy the previous image into your editing program and edit away. Don't forget to edit your post and put it in.



IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Dorien has just come up with a great idea to make it easier for us all to see if you've done.
"If no one has posted since you posted that you will have a go, then all you need to do is copy your post, delete it and then post a new one and copy the info back into that post
Therefore it will show up on the new posts section, letting everyone know that you've done your one "

Practice, my good friends.

I have made one, but I will wait til dorien has done his and then add mine. I made it look like a vortex or something. I didnt mean to, but I did a few inverts and made some gradient like things and it came out quite nicely.2008-12-14 12:47:00

How would people feel if I edited the rules so you couldn't book places and you just say you'll have a go AFTER the previous person has finished? First one to say so gets to do it. It'd stop confusion with people booking early, then forgetting about it and making others wait 2 hours.
Also how would the mods feel if we were to double post to show our entry, so it shows a new message has been made?

btw i've got a little project going with this and i've saved every pic so far with the details of who made each section. I'm planning on making it into a video when were finnished showing the progress form start to finnish with the creators name underneath in each frame.

It's as easy as copying the picture and pasting it in Microsoft Paint. Then you just zoom up and work from there. 		2008-12-20 23:11:00

The image has gotten darker somewhere along the lines, unfortunately. It mostl ikely can't be fixed now.

I just had a try at brightening it, but as I got one colour to the right brightness, other colours were not so.
