Bright and colourful Fire Effect!
Archive: 20 posts
Hey, i just found small and awesome effect for the fire tool. 1. Open up your goodies bag and place a hologram (Brightness: 100%) 2. Set it on fire. Optional: If you want the effects be even more awesome, before setting them on fire, tweak the hologram and set a different coulour! And then set it on fire, and ta-da! The very best flame colour/effect! Now go and try it. It's easy and great! | 2011-06-22 15:57:00 Author: TheGoldenFlash Posts: 209 |

Yep I used this a lot on my level Sackrificed. It's a great way to have fire and even fire that won't kill the player (put it on a thin layer of holo) if you want. If you want a really punched up bit of firey color - add an invisible lightbox to the holo and you can get some neat color combinations and glowyness.) If you want some cool movement in the fire too, try adding a smoke machine near the top of the holo that's on fire. have it move vertically and the particles from the fire mix with the smoke. Neat effect. | 2011-06-22 17:28:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Yeah, by the way, i've played that Sackrificed level of yours. It was pretty awesome! | 2011-06-22 18:11:00 Author: TheGoldenFlash Posts: 209 |
For lava I use the Freaky Clouds material to death in my new level. Set it to orange and optionally overlay a red piece of hologram on fire for a nice effect. http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/d978e9a290e8e2f887281181bf31049b59d64927.jpg | 2011-06-22 18:33:00 Author: Radishlord Posts: 706 |

Wow, that looks great, too. Gotta try that as well. Looks better in motion as well, try it at a low brightness for the effect I had up there | 2011-06-22 18:50:00 Author: Radishlord Posts: 706 |

Neat effect. Combining different lighting is something I was messing around with all today. Can get some awesome effects. Need to try the smoke machine, sounds perfect for my level. | 2011-06-22 23:19:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
i've already knew this but i went with it to the extreme. Like some of you said before : Add more color & Brightness. I've done that and also added a lot's smoke (random). I putted all box different danger effect : Plasma,fire,etc.. Added a background color really bright. After all that, i made everything 5x bigger and................omg my eye where burning! + it was super lagging. My story | 2011-06-24 04:47:00 Author: Sport_dude Posts: 622 |
The best thing about firery hologram in my opinion is the fact that it works underwater without being put out. Which is what I did in my CC13 | 2011-06-29 22:29:00 Author: Megafig Posts: 52 |
Thanks for the tip. I want to play around with it when I get home. | 2011-06-30 02:38:00 Author: Unknown User |

Invisible lightbox? | 2011-07-18 04:13:00 Author: 49er Nation Posts: 429 |
Invisible lightbox? What invisible lightbox? Do you mean the light cube? There isn't a setting for making the light cube invisble, so I must have missed something in my pop-it. | 2011-07-20 13:07:00 Author: LittleBigDes Posts: 920 |
You know I was just about to ask the same question. If I figure it out I'll get back to you guys on it. | 2011-07-20 13:28:00 Author: Captain_Dinosaur Posts: 214 |

Invisible lightbox? There is a light called a "lightbox" that you can toggle the visibility on and off. I use them all the time because you don't have to hide them, just turn the visibility off. | 2011-07-20 13:45:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Oh, I didn't know those could be invisible! | 2011-07-20 18:06:00 Author: 49er Nation Posts: 429 |
