i have a question that probably doesn't apply to this forum but if someone could answer it for me i may be able to get some sleep again.
in the "developing an atmosphere" tutorial they use the seaweed decoration. at one point the seaweed becomes more animated. how? i have tried playing with everything in that level and cannot figure it out. if i move one of the seaweed objects back past that point it becomes less animated and if i move it back it is animated again. this has bugged me for a loong time but i have finally put my fear of ridicule aside because my curiosity will not let me alone.

well i figured it out if anyone doesn't know and wants to know. the seaweed decoration and a few others will start to animate automatically at a certain point in levels.2011-07-07 01:04:00

I don't know, I'm pretty sure you can't tweek stickers and decorations. Maybe the seaweed just looks different at different spots. It could be a glitch also, I have seen some glitched decorations.2011-07-07 03:09:00

If you stick SOME decorations that have animation onto some holo and tweak the animation speed of it you can slow down, pause it, speed it up and in some cases reverse it!

Now taking this further you can hook up logic to holo set to variable speed scale. Maybe a player sensor, the closer you get the faster it animates. Haven't tried seaweed but yeah. Also there is motion settings to water so particles move about in it so maybe the current is making it move. Also haven't tried it, I'm on a bumpy bus ride right now. I think my iPhone is spelling most of this for me!

Didn't know that you didn't know that... now THAT'S interesting

The one that I'm thinking of now is the light stud from the Avalon level. It lights up as player colour, but I have a feeling that you can use holo to override it and make it switch colours like that... you know, by setting the on and off animations and holo colour differently.

First thing I'm looking into when I next jump on is things that light up according to player colour.
