Gaming Capture Cards.

Archive: 4 posts

Okay, So for whatever reason I've always wanted to get into publishing video game commentaries on the internet. I've been wanting to do it for a while, But never got around. Eventually, I looked it up on amazon, And found that pretty much all of the capture cards were extremely expensive, And looks really complicated to work. So, What I'm looking for is some advice. I want to publish it in HD, and I have a mac computer. I'm looking for the cheapest possible one, Which doesn't suck, And advice on how to set it up. I'm asking a lot.... So thanks!2011-06-21 18:52:00

The one that almost every Youtube commentator uses is an HD Hauppauge. (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html)

It's a little on the pricey side but it's well worth the money in my opinion. I believe it works with Macs as well. Advice on setting it up? I have no idea as I don't own one but I'm sure you could find a simple tutorial on Youtube.

there's a capture card that is currently selling for 70$ with free shipping. It's a deal through machinima, i'll post the link here, the capture card isn't ridiculously expensive and it looks like it captures pretty well. I would get it, and tell you first hand how it is but i need to spend another 300$ on a new PS3 *wah*

Here's the link: http://www.roxio.com/enu/promotions/landing/machinima/game-capture/console/overview.html?AID=10905330&PID=5296466&source=gamecap_machinima_c_fb

You could get an Easycap that is 8$... it's pretty bad but if you spend the time to tweak the settings just right you can get a half way decent image and sound.2011-06-28 22:44:00
