Upload Photos from hard drive to posts

Archive: 8 posts

Am I the only one who's a little annoyed that you cant directly upload photos from your computer to posts? Its a little bit tedeous trying to get a link to a photo, and getting it ON the internet for that matter.2011-06-21 17:40:00

Well, I think that you can, but the pictures end up resized to a tiny size and as attachments. I don't understand much about server stuff, but I think that LBPC's server isn't prepared for full picture uploading. That's why there are special sites around the web for that matter. 2011-06-21 17:53:00

Yeah but those "Special sites" require an e-mail address and registration. What if you dont want to register.2011-06-21 18:04:00

Some like TinyPic (http://tinypic.com/) doesn't. There's an option but it isn't needed. Yeah, having to upload pics at other sites is annoying, but implementing an upload feature in LBPC would be costly I guess. :/2011-06-21 18:42:00

It would probably cost the owners of the site more to be able to allow pictures to be stored on their servers.

If you ever make anything you wish to share then it's a good idea to upload them to your own personal account on a image sharing site. I've had one with photobucket for years and have been using it a lot for signatures and such. It only takes a few minutes to upload them and copy and paste the link over to here, then you can link it as many times as you want, instead of uploading it again and again to different posts.

Well, in truth you dont even need to do that. you can attatch a photo, and then post the thread. then open two tabs, both with the same post. you can click the attatchments on one tab, then copy the link of that attatchment. edit the post on the second tab and replace the attatchment with the link of the photo.

Thats what I do anyway, but its very tedious... x(

I absolutely detest registering at sites, except this one of course, but I'm talking about sites like image hosters etc. I did find, however, that google's Picassa is very handy. I like it a lot better than imageshack and the rest. It's pretty speedy and you have a lot of storage, plus it's free. You have to register though, but I use a special email address for that.2011-06-22 03:39:00

There's an app for that: http://www.getcloudapp.com/

Amazing. Screenshots automatically uploaded and you can drag in any file with quick viewing and BBCode sharing.

Alternatives include Dropbox(seriously not recommended though). Dropbox might be on Windows, however, making it the best choice for the OS.
