Operation SackernautSilver39_7 http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff393/valmassoilbpc/Operarion%20Sackernaut/IMG_4294.jpgYou've been subjected to a barrage of experiments by your captors. Now you have super-strength, but at a cost. The third and last level of the Wanderer Trilogy, for more info, check my sig. Alright, I worked all day to finish this level, and I really enjoyed coming up with the gameplay for this level. But now I'm ready to respond to feedback and if any technical issues and bugs are found, please post so I can find a solution. Lastly, If you need help, don't be afraid to ask. Alright, hope you guys enjoy! | 2011-06-20 23:32:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
It's out it's out it's out it's out! I've been eagerly awaiting this level, and will download it immediately before heading to work. Expect a review in about an hour to an hour and a half. See you then! | 2011-06-21 01:35:00 Author: BlackWolfe Posts: 299 |
Just amazing. Marvelous, fantastic, rad, awesome,groovy... Not sure I have ever seen such good puzzles in LBP. Or at least that many good ones in the same level. And neat trick there! The level also looks nice. I don't want to give away any spoilers... :star::star::star::star::star:<3 I believe you set a new bar in some ways. I feel ashamed that I read the title as Operation Sauerkraut when I first saw it. | 2011-06-21 02:17:00 Author: Morgalaga Posts: 164 |
Stuff I Liked Once I got the hang of it, flinging crates around all over the place was too much fun! The puzzles. They were awesome. Stuff That Can Die in a Fire It's entirely too easy to block off access to a room entrance and/or have a box land on the button. Meh It just sort of... ends. I'd list that under "Die in a Fire", but I can well imagine how little thermo you had left. Overall :star::star::star::star::star: Need I say more? | 2011-06-21 02:59:00 Author: BlackWolfe Posts: 299 |
Not sure I have ever seen such good puzzles in LBP. Or at least that many good ones in the same level. Thanks, that's my best skill in LBP so I need to showcase it. I believe you set a new bar in some ways. Thanks for the kind words. But I believe the bar's been set higher a long time ago, by some amazingflyingpoo. Stuff I Liked Once I got the hang of it, flinging crates around all over the place was too much fun! The puzzles. They were awesome. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Stuff That Can Die in a Fire It's entirely too easy to block off access to a room entrance and/or have a box land on the button. I'm sorry to hear you had problems with that, but to me, if players needed to go back (to use the erase feature) and the entrance was blocked they could just use the retry. And when playing, the boxes tended to hit the button only when you emit a few too many blocks (more than necessary) and it gets crowded. Meh It just sort of... ends. I'd list that under "Die in a Fire", but I can well imagine how little thermo you had left. I actually had an entire boss battle planned but when I started making the arena, the thermo was already flashing, so I switched it up to one last puzzle. Thanks for the feedback you two, much appreciated. | 2011-06-21 03:19:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
I think the problem is I'm so used to adjusting my grip when moving grabbies around that I ended up flinging crates by accident. | 2011-06-21 08:23:00 Author: BlackWolfe Posts: 299 |
*Not Crash* I fell in here, and I'm gonna play your level. I'll leave feedback in an hour or something. *Runs to PSP* | 2011-06-21 10:59:00 Author: nysudyrgh Posts: 5482 |
Hey don't start a post with *crash* you might scare someone! I know that I consider 'crash' a dirty word in regards to LBP PSP. A tip for playing this is to hit the button once then jump to the other side of the box while doing your best to not land on top of it. I guess all the buttons could be on the wall to the left instead of most of them being on the floor. If you want to republish. But in my opinion block puzzles are not block puzzles if you can't sabotage yourself. I think blocks coined the term trial 'n error. I'm glad that you used all the thermo on puzzles. To be honest I'm not a very big fan of bosses. I have liked several and whatnot but I won't get into that. | 2011-06-21 13:58:00 Author: Morgalaga Posts: 164 |
That looks really cool! I'll try to play this and the rest of your Trilogy as soon as I cam =) | 2011-06-21 16:30:00 Author: Phalaina Posts: 181 |

To be honest I'm not a very big fan of bosses. I have liked several and whatnot but I won't get into that. I have a pretty good handle on boss making, but trying to squeeze that out with the thermo flashing, wasn't a challenge I was gonna take on. | 2011-06-21 17:44:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |

I'm not going to lie, when I first played this I had no idea what was going on or how to play it But I pesevered, came back later and had a riot playing this!! The challenges increase perfectly, easy to hard in a lovely difficulty curve. And the visuals! Oh the visuals are superb, that clean look is excellent. The characters are well designed, the dialogue is witty This is a great level and the only thing I find difficult was getting it to work in the first place and understanding what to do - but that was my problem for not reading properly :star::star::star::star::star: annd a flying <3 | 2011-06-23 21:56:00 Author: Coxy224 Posts: 2645 |
But I pesevered, came back later and had a riot playing this!! The challenges increase perfectly, easy to hard in a lovely difficulty curve. This was something I really wanted to do with this level because it introduces a unique type of gameplay so it only seemed fit to start easy and make things more complex as the level progresses. And the visuals! Oh the visuals are superb, that clean look is excellent. It took me a while to get those walls so clean. I tried to be picky about that while not wasting too much time on it. Nice to hear it paid off. This is a great level and the only thing I find difficult was getting it to work in the first place and understanding what to do - but that was my problem for not reading properly Thanks for the feedback Coxy, and something I learned from beta testing this level with other people: no one reads magic mouths. | 2011-06-23 22:08:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
I want to leave you some quality feedback but I don't have time to read all the other posts so bare with me if I repeat something. I feel like I get more from feedback when it isn't in a fancy style (no offense to anyone intended), so I'll give you a couple solid paragraphs. Right off the bat I want to say you did a great job with the level design creating a laboratory setting-like feel. I don't like it when people overuse stickers (I personally don't like them at all in the PSP version), so I'm glad to see someone else keeping their visuals "clean" in a sense. I didn't feel like your visuals were plain at all and you did a great job using all of the layers to your advantage. The material choice here was excellent and fit perfect with the story. Onto the story aspect, I don't exactly remember your two other levels, but I know I played them. From what I can remember, this is definitely your best level yet simply because you tweaked the gameplay as much as I could imagine possible for this type of "game" with the cubes and all. I especially liked the progressing story line and that there weren't any score bubbles to sidetrack you from the epicness. All in all, don't worry if your level doesn't get the best ratings as it can be a little tricky getting accustomed to a new type of game (like every game of course). That being said, I was shocked that only one other person other than me (Nys) was able to complete your level (or at least make it to the scoreboard). This level inspired me to keep creating on the PSP (not that I was going to stop, but it sped things up). Brilliant work from a brilliant creator. :star::star::star::star::star:<3 C<3 | 2011-06-23 23:22:00 Author: WoodburyRaider Posts: 1651 |
I haven't left feedback on this yet! D: Well it is very good. It's not too often a new concept comes to the community moon. And I have absolutely no idea how you made it work. In a sense, it kinda feels like portal. The difficulty gradually increases and the puzzles are designed perfectly. Great job. :star::star::star::star::star:<3 | 2011-06-23 23:35:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |
Right off the bat I want to say you did a great job with the level design creating a laboratory setting-like feel. I don't like it when people overuse stickers (I personally don't like them at all in the PSP version) It's kinda of ironic because this level uses a lot of stickers. It's the same one though, and its why you can't exactly tell what material this is when you first see it. Onto the story aspect, I don't exactly remember your two other levels, but I know I played them. This level actually tells the story better than the other ones, so I don't blame you there. From what I can remember, this is definitely your best level yet simply because you tweaked the gameplay as much as I could imagine possible for this type of "game" with the cubes and all. Thanks, I really wanted this level to be unique and stand out a bit more than some of my previous levels. That being said, I was shocked that only one other person other than me (Nys) was able to complete your level (or at least make it to the scoreboard). Actually, I'm pretty sure somethings wrong with the servers and whatnot. Because only val's name is shown on my scoreboard. :/ This level inspired me to keep creating on the PSP (not that I was going to stop, but it sped things up). Glad to hear that Woodbury. And thanks for the feedback. Well it is very good. It's not too often a new concept comes to the community moon. And I have absolutely no idea how you made it work. In a sense, it kinda feels like portal. The difficulty gradually increases and the puzzles are designed perfectly. Great job. The basic concept (the box mechanics) was the easiest part. The puzzles were not. More than half of the time spent on this level was me figuring out how a puzzle would work. Anyways, thanks for the feedback guys! I appreciate it. | 2011-06-23 23:42:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
I'm back with the feedback, What ? did I say feedback in an hour ? Oh, I meant three days. Awesome Stuff: Nice, clean walls. entertaining puzzles. Stuff That Needs To Be Sent To The Void: No bossfight ? At a certain point, you can see a part of the background while still in the facility. It just ... ended. Stuff Thats Strange, Yet Awesome: The soldier had an ... obvious weak point. The Rating: You still need to ask ? | 2011-06-24 16:18:00 Author: nysudyrgh Posts: 5482 |
I'm back with the feedback, What ? did I say feedback in an hour ? Oh, I meant three days. Better late than never. Stuff That Needs To Be Sent To The Void: No bossfight ? The thermo didn't want one. It just ... ended. Same as the above, I couldn't add anymore because of the thermo. | 2011-06-24 17:30:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
Congrats on the spotlight Silver! | 2011-06-25 22:19:00 Author: WoodburyRaider Posts: 1651 |
good work on the spotlight. i loved this level. -new gameplay mechanics are not always easy to do and explain to the player but you did this very well -the visuals were simplistic but needed nothing more to them. -you are one of the best creators at puzzles and this new kind of puzzle was so awesome well done! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and a <3 | 2011-06-26 01:20:00 Author: darcyh Posts: 191 |
Yep this is a well deserved spotlight silver. I hope to see another puzzler from you!! | 2011-06-26 02:48:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |
Hey buddy!! You threw us a curve ball on this one, and made one of the most unique levels I ever played. Congrats on another spotlight! | 2011-06-26 03:20:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |
Thanks for the congratulations guys. -new gameplay mechanics are not always easy to do and explain to the player but you did this very well That was something I worried about was: how well would the player understand the instructions. I must have reread those magic mouths a million times to get it worded the way I wanted. you are one of the best creators at puzzles and this new kind of puzzle was so awesome well done! Thanks, I wasn't sure how well a puzzle level would be received by the community, but it turns out it did pretty well. Thanks for the feedback, darcyh. | 2011-06-26 05:20:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
Congratz on the spotlight silver. Your level was a blast to play .... Again ... And again ... And again ... | 2011-06-26 10:58:00 Author: nysudyrgh Posts: 5482 |

Hello. Played through this twice now and gave it full marks each time. I think you must have unpublished it and published a new one. I also played through the first two parts of the trilogy and I thought they were fantastic as well. Full marks once more. At times I was scratching my head as to how you did certain things and I will keep an eye out for more of your levels in the future. Thanks. | 2011-07-01 16:47:00 Author: MrObycyek Posts: 50 |
