The Review Center is a forum where you can post reviews of levels you've played. If you like writing reviews, then this is the place to practice! If you're having trouble discovering new levels to write reviews about, we have a very active Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40) that will provide tons of options. I want to start reviewing levels! You've come to the right place! As long as you promise to follow these simple guidelines, feel free to get started: The official rules (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=21530-Rules-Consequences) still apply. You aren't required to, but for every problem you point out, try to provide a possible solution as well. For example, if you feel a level is too difficult, suggest ways in which the Creator can make it easier. Once again, you aren't required to, but try to provide a way for readers to find the creation you are discussing, so they can play the level for themselves. If you stumbled across it online, provide the Title and Author. If you are reviewing a level shared in our Showcase (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40), link back to the thread in question. I just want to read reviews! Many members won't be writing regular reviews (although we encourage it!), so if you don't feel you've got what it takes, that's alright! Read through the reviews and feel free to comment. As long as you follow the official rules (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=21530-Rules-Consequences), go ahead and start browsing (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=55)! | 2008-12-11 17:01:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
How about a request a review feature? For those who want to make existing levels better? | 2008-12-11 17:18:00 Author: DrunkMiffy Posts: 2758 |
How about a request a review feature? For those who want to make existing levels better? Sounds like something to expand upon in the future, but it all depends on how often this forum is used. Basically, I'll wait and see who's got reviewing skills, and if there are enough skilled reviewers, I'll get something set up. | 2008-12-11 17:26:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |

I want to start reviewing levels! You've come to the right place! As long as you promise to follow these simple guidelines, feel free to get started: The official rules (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=82931&postcount=2) still apply. For every problem you point out, be respectful enough to provide a possible solution as well. For example, if you feel a level is too difficult, suggest ways in which the Creator can make it easier. You aren't required to, but try to provide a way for readers to find the creation you are discussing, so they can play the level for themselves. Just point out the problems, and what you don't like. You don't need to provide a solution to fixing something if you don't like it. The review isn't written just for the creator, it's written for players who want to find good levels. Being required to provide a solution to each criticism would be much too much work in my opinion. | 2008-12-11 18:30:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |
LInque, it just depends on the reviewer.. there are some people who are good at giving criticism and suggestions, without being specific at all.... May try writing up one or two at some point in the near future... | 2008-12-11 18:38:00 Author: DaSaintFan Posts: 136 |
Exactly. It depends on the reviewer. It shouldn't be forced upon a reviewer to do so, but neither would it be prohibited, of course. | 2008-12-11 18:40:00 Author: Linque Posts: 607 |

These are meant to be guidelines, not rock-solid rules. I'll change it to make that more obvious. EDIT: Done. | 2008-12-11 18:56:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Another great addition to our wonderful site Great work again CC and anyone else who had a hand in this P.s just noticed them Youtube and rawcode additions which makes things a lot easier than having to write them all the time | 2008-12-11 19:07:00 Author: dorien Posts: 2767 |

It looks like you are sticking dedicated reviewer's request lists, which is definitely a good thing. You might want to expand on this idea by having those that have stickied lists writing out a list of some of thier best and worst levels. Have them do it in whatever format they want, either a top 10 or a "my favourite levels list" or however else they want to go about it. The idea of the second sticky list is that people can then go to it and see quickly which levels the reviewer really loved (and hated, if they include that, but it might be a long list). I look forward to this section really taking off. We aren't all brilliant creators - although we certainly have some awesome ones here. But all creators need a break now and then, and they can use that break time to write meaningful reviews. The role of the LBP reviewer, though not highlighted within LBP, is an under-appreciated role, at least at the moment. Well if I do end up getting stickied for reviewing in the future, I believe I'll have a top 10 list. I would only include levels that people ask me to review in the list though. ie) none of my own levels, nor levels that people outside the LBC community have made. | 2008-12-12 20:40:00 Author: Neverynnal Posts: 374 |
I am stickied (yay), but as far as top 10 lists are concerned I might skip. Might, be the key word here. The thing with top ten lists is, while they are great for telling people what you found good, it tends to be limiting to a degree, if you have many more than 10 or less than 10 than the list loses some appeal. We'll see. | 2008-12-12 23:45:00 Author: Shining Aquas Posts: 353 |
I'm certainly game for teaming up and making the reviews section as solid as possible (many heads are better than 1). No sense in doing duplicate work. I currently am publishing a list of best found levels (including my top 10). Any review and identification of a top 10 list is certainly subjective. I may like something that others don't. However, through my experience playing LBP, you know in a very short time when a level "has it" or doesn't. I'll help the reviews section of this forum the best I can. I think at the end of the reveiw that they should have two set of bullet points Good Points Bad Points and ut the reason why, so a conclusion | 2008-12-24 15:31:00 Author: panzer3000 Posts: 362 |
I think at the end of the reveiw that they should have two set of bullet points Good Points Bad Points and ut the reason why, so a conclusion That's not a bad suggestion, but that's up to the reviewer. Everyone has a different style, and we want to provide a place to let those styles flourish. | 2009-02-05 05:55:00 Author: ConfusedCartman Posts: 3729 |
Um, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but the front page is currently about 60-70% people who say they want to review, and only 30-40% of it is actual reviews, maybe even less than that. I honestly think you shouldn't volunteer to review unless you are willing to be for the most part consistent and active, or if you only plan on saying a few quick lines (or about a paragraph's worth). That's best left on the F4F system. | 2009-03-02 07:03:00 Author: Shining Aquas Posts: 353 |
:blush:I'd like to ask, Is it against the rules to ask multiple reviewers to review your level? I mean if we can't, that's O.K. but being able to see what multiple people think about your level is a nice touch. So...can we ask multiple reviewers to review the same level? | 2009-05-16 21:23:00 Author: Noroibito Posts: 211 |

Well, people do it anyway... Anyway, that's just a way to get as much feedback as you can, so I can't believe it's a problem- plus everyone does it :/. | 2009-05-16 21:26:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
