Grab Sensor Connected to a Score Giver...

Archive: 4 posts

I have an object that I am using that has a grab sensor connected to a score giver. However when two or more players grab the object, only one player receives points. Is there a way to set it up so that all players that are grabbing that object are getting points, instead of just one? Thanks!!!2011-06-20 17:45:00

the best thing you can do to fix this is to add a material changer, and switch the grabbability to "single grab". 'that way, only one person can grab it. and I know, that probably wasn't what you're going for, but it's my best advice. hope it helped!2011-06-20 18:58:00

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, that isn't going to help with my level. 2011-06-20 19:51:00

You could kinda do it with sackbots by making grabbing the object just one condition of receiving a score. For example, if the object is grabbed, that's condition 1. So wire the grab sensor to a tag called "grabbed." Put a tag sensor on the sackbot that detects this tag. Make the tag sensor just big enough to be able to detect the tag if the player is within grabbing distance. Wire that to an AND gate (the bottom port). Then wire R1 (which you'll need to hold in order to grab) to the top port of the AND gate. Then wire that to your score giver (right on the sackbot itself). You'll need one of those logic systems per sackbot.

This should result in the right player getting the score. The only issue would be that the player could stand next to the grabbable object, holding R1, getting points. It all depends on how you have it set up.

If you are not using sackbots, I'm not sure how you'd do it.
