Soundless Sticker Switch

Archive: 5 posts

For level I'm currently making, I have an arrow sticker that will activate a sticker sensor to attack a boss. Is there any way that I can get rid of the sound for the sensor?2011-06-20 16:23:00

Link it to a Timer on start count down linked to a global sound changer to turn off SFX for the duration of the sticker switch sound.2011-06-20 16:38:00

Are you talking about the sound that plays when you place the sticker or the one that lets you know you're hovering over a sticker switch? I don't know how to do anything about the latter, but you can eliminate the sticker switch "success" sound without lowering the entire level's volume.

Grab the white music sound object (the one from lbp1) and select the e-drum hi hat. Use the d-pad (not the analog stick) to tweak the pitch 3-4 ticks to the right (I can never remember whether it's 3 or 4). You'll know when you've hit the right one 'cuz you won't hear a sound. Now you've got a soundless sound object. Hook the sticker switch to it and it will play the empty sound instead of the sticker switch's sound, effectively eliminating the sound effect.

You can also use empty sound objects on dissolve/destroyed objects (set the sound to "on destruction") to eliminate the hissing sound they make when destroyed or you can set it to "on impact" to eliminate the physics/impact sounds of an object.
