Useable Working Guns

I've just started designing some guns that you can pick up and use.
So far I have made a pistol and shotgun,
if any one else has made guns like this let me know I'm always looking for tips/tricks.
After I'm finished I'll publish a level with the guns.

if there are any guns that you want i will make them too!

Sounds cool. I've made a similar gun method, in which the player can choose to pick up and drop their weapon, as well as aim and fire it effectively. My method is currently in the form of a level series which isn't yet finished, though I'd be interested to see how yours works.

Mine also are not made of "material" but more decorations, so there is no issue of the weapons ever getting stuck, or lagging. When aimed, it also looks as if the player is actually aiming a weapon - e.g. If he is shooting up, he looks up, points the weapon up, and once fired, he can shoot objects that are above him. Similar to yours?

yeah, mine works similar to yours, but yours do sound a little better, im simi new to lbp2 so im not that good a at using logic yet. can i see one of your guns to see how it works?2011-06-21 03:00:00

How is your gunplay system going to work? Have you considered using something similar to contra? That is what I am doing atm. Side scrollers work better that way imho than a realistic gun system.2011-06-21 12:42:00

Yeah they control about the same, except with my guns you can pick up/drop your gun at any time, and you can only carry one at a time.

One of my friends has already made quite a few weapons that any sackperson can use, pick up & drop as well, and it can reflect its orientation to aim in the opposite general direction. His PSN ID is "videogamer_1". He has also made some fairly detailed costume guns as well, which could be used on sackbots for more realistic guns.2011-06-21 23:17:00

Just look for "videogamer_1", the level is "costume guns" if I recall correctly... I'd look for the username first though, it might be easier to find, & he's got more cool stuff than just costume guns. As for his pick-up guns, he hasn't published any levels containing them that I know of, so you'd have to ask him for those...
