Well I'm gonna have to enter in this and I've been working on a minigame lately so it seems I have a bit of a head start
also I really don't have any use for XP so I'll happily donate some/all of my XP if you want.

Ok I just checked and it turns out I have 3,370 XP points so just tell me how ever much you want and donate them to you guys.

There is roughly a 52.63% chance I could make an entry.
If I can grab one of the ideas jumping around in my head by the scruff and force it to work.

But there is the problem of having some corruption in My Objects so I have to delete all the ones I made recently.
So I would be starting from scratch (which is probably a good thing actually.)

I could design a ribbon for the person who wins... kinda like making a fake sticker. Also, I'm entering.2011-06-19 02:19:00

K, guys who enter are:
Sackboy7789
Darcyh
Morgalaga ?
AceOfThorns

Am I right ?

@AceOfThorns: Apparently the XP should be donated to Direheart.
And welcome to the crew.

@nysudyrgh - Correct, you already have the 300 to hand out to 1st place and second. Look at the home page of our group and then look for *Group Problems* as a thread.2011-06-19 15:51:00

Count me out I have some corruption that happens just from using some of the tools.
I made a back up before I got into create mode but it still has the problem.
Do not know if I'll ever want to restart the game and constantly make back ups.
I'll get back to it sometime but I still have hardly touched LBP1.

I almost had a rough draft of the minigame finished and that made me feel accomplishment.
I now know I can make something I'm somewhat satisfied with.
And I'm a pretty tough critic of myself.

@morgalaga hey it may not be the tools you’re using but rather the materials and if you’re using turbo materials they may be the cause of the level corruptions.2011-06-19 23:08:00

I don't have Turbo.
I have had the most shut-offs while I was testing emitters in play mode, now that I think about it.
And I recently had three going at once and spawning objects attached to pistons or string.

But I am going to give it another go.
Was just a bit distraught earlier, verging on weepy.
I started trying the idea in my testing zone, a part of the level that still works with no corruption is still sitting there.
I'm going to beat the last two LBP1 story levels first though.

UPDATE:
Basically know why my levels keep crashing.
Pretty sure its all the gaps in knowledge and lack of experience with Create mode.
Specific things I'm doing are causing it to crash, probably.
An example is improper use of emitters.

When can we start judging these levels?2011-06-20 06:25:00

@Direheart-: After the deadline.

@Valmassoi-: As long as there is a survival challenge, it has a chance to win.

@Ninja-Piggeh: Yes I know, but I don't have infinite XP ...

I must say that I truly say I am out of the contest this time.
I have to start from scratch on my level again.
As any emitter set up any way crashes the PSP.
But I can do anything else just fine, so i will still be working on a level.

At least want to a published level before I end up restarting my profile.
I'm going to take it super slow and forget about replicating the madness of arcade games I <3 so much for now.
Lets see if someone who yelled things like "stoopid do wot I sayed" at Mario as a child can cause platforming to happen.

But its not like I'm going to ignore the results and entries to this contest.

I would be interested in entering this. I have an MSF survival challenge that I have started working on and I hope to publish it in the next few days. It basically involves the player being dumped into a room and being attacked from both sides by 4 msf soldiers that spawn infinitely. I have been having a few problems however with getting them to move at times. I placed wheels and a brain on each soldier as well as a sound effect and yet when I emit them I get four different results! One of them does as he is supposed to and moves. One moves only when pushed. One does not move either when pushed or pulled and finally there is the soldier that disappears completely leaving just a pair of wheels and an unprotected brain on the floor. There is obviously something I am doing wrong but what I cannot understand is why they all either work or they don't. How can I have four different results? Also I wanted to have spikes on my soldiers but it won't lert me do this for some reason. I also tried electrifying the soldiers but I found this made the level over too quickly. At the moment I just have electrified walls (which if the player does not take out the soldiers constantly will result in them being forced against them) and two soldiers on an upper level firing down at the player. I want this level to be as good as it could be and so would appreciate any help. I will not be on a PC again this week so although I can check posts on my psp I can't respond. Thanks.

Assuming the level is done in time -- it likely won't -- I'll enter "One Night at an Art Museum." Whether or not I get it done in time, good luck to all participants!2011-06-21 20:56:00

Hello. Managed to find an internet cafe and get online. I have now published MSF:Survival. It's had 30 plays already (only one of which was mine!) and I managed to fix the moving soldier problems although don't ask me how.

Thats it folks, the deadline strikes and every level behind this post will not be Rated.
Sorry Morgalaga, Blackwolfe and AceOfThorns, you guys didn't manage to finish your levels.

The Ratings:
Will have to wait coz Direheart has some issues with his internet. :/
Darcyh_'s level isn't rated yet.

Sorry I flaked there.
The level I was making needed to be redone from scratch.
I said bugger it and started working on something else.

The stall gives me time to go download the entries before they are rated.

Minigame Master Contest Entry 1: The little Big Planet Centrall Games, made by Sackboy7789

-Visuals: your visuals were quite well, I saw that it was LBPC from the start. They went a bit down at the pinball game though. 7/10
-Gameplay: The second game was nicely made. The first game on the other hand ... it kills you the moment you enter it. 6/10
-Originality: Pinball isn't that original but the giant wheel survival is OK. 7/10
-Overall: 20/30 A nice score.

Minigame Master Contest entry 2: Wooden Isles (Minigame is located inside a bigger level.) made by Valmassoi.

-Visuals: The visuals for your level were stunning, but plain for the survival challenge. 5/10
-Gameplay: Gameplay was fast paced, a bit too fast for me but good enough. 8/10
-Originality: very original, I never saw a bird dropping bombs that way. 9/10
-Overall: 22/30 Pretty good for your first crack at a survival challenge.

Minigame Master Contest entry 3: MSF:Survival made by MrObycyek.

-Visuals: The stickerwork and the characters were impressive. 9/10
-Gameplay: The gameplay in this level messed up. the soldiers are everywhere when you start. 5/10
-Originality: Quite original, the two gunners above are something new. 7/10
-Overall: 21/30 Nice one, keep it up.

Minigame Master Contest entry 4: A Night at an Art Museum made by Blackwolfe5396
-Visuals : 0/10
-Gameplay: 0/10
-Originality: 0/10
-Overall: 0/10

Minigame Master Contest entry 5: Machinery Madness Made by Darcyh_
-Visuals: A bit plain but the cogs looked great. 8/10
-Gameplay: gameplay was very good , the manner of point bubble collecting is something new. 9/10
-Originality: You raised the bar higher for the giant wheel survival 8/10
-Overall: 23/30 quite good, but we already knew that you are one of the minigame masters.

Minigame Master Contest Entry 1: the little Big Planet Central Games by Sackboy7789
-Visuals: The visuals in the beginning of the level were amazing but once you got down to the pinball part they went down a bit but they were still great. 7.5/10

-Gameplay: At the first part when you fall down into the search box I couldn?t seem to be able to figure out how to get out so I restarted the level and got stuck again then restarted it again... and got stuck again, then I realized all you have to do is jump down, boy did I feel restarted. Any way the wheel part takes a few tries to realize how to not be killed instantly but the pinball gameplay was pretty solid. 7/10

-Originality: Survival wheels and pinball aren?t all that original even though he did a great job on them 5/10

-Overall: 19/30

Minigame Master Contest entry 2: Wooden Isles by Valmassoi.
-Visuals: on the normal part of the level the visuals were awesome but once you get to the survival part was a bit dull. 4/10

-Gameplay: I don't really have much to say but it was very nice. 7/10

-Originality: you know I have actually played a survival level just like this a long time ago but it was terrible compared to this though. 9/10

-Overall: 20/30
Oh noes its glocken pop!

Minigame Master Contest entry 3: MSF:Survival made by MrObycyek.
-Visuals: Epic stickerness! 9/10

-Gameplay: I can?t really say I found this very challenging and it's easy to jump from one soldier to the other and just get a big combo and whatnot 5/10

-Originality: I don't think I have ever seen soldiers above you before so that was something new 5/10

-Overall: 19/30

Minigame Master Contest entry 4: Machinery Madness Made by Darcyh_
-Visuals: I think the visual stuff in this level fit the theme perfectly even if it was a little plain 9/10

-Gameplay: Seems to me that the gear should have slowed down when you respawned and sometimes you fall right in the middle of two gears 7/10

-Originality: has anyone else played gears of doom? 7/10

-Overall: 23/30

The Final Ratings:
1st place-Darcyh_: 46/60
2nd place-Vallmassoi: 42/60
3rd place-MrObycyek 40/60
4th place-Sackboy7789
5th Place-Morgalaga/aceofthorns/blackwolfe9653: 0/60

Thats it guys, I'll send the XP tomorrow.
We'll be back next week with another exicting contest, so stay tuned.

Congrats to the winners. I knew it was a mistake to even mention "museum" before it was ready. I jinxed it! Ended up having to restart it from scratch due to a design flaw that snuck past me. I wasn't even halfway done when the deadline hit. Ah well, better a no-show than a rush job.2011-06-26 15:24:00
