How to Fuse Materials
Archive: 8 posts
Ever wondered how to get rid of the annoyig boarders between materials? If so, I'll show you how to do it step-by-step... First, have two matierals side by side. (Same or Different) http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35118 Second, Turn one of the materials into gas. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35120&d=1308415872 Third, Corner edit the solid material into the gas material. (Moving the solid into the gas also works too.) http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35121 Last, glue the materials together. (This can be done in just about any step.) Then unleathalize the gas material. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=35123 KA-POW! You just fused materials together! This works in elimanating boarders and stuff like that. So, good luck! Paint FTW! | 2011-06-18 18:06:00 Author: Random Posts: 673 |
So I can finally fuse 2 bits of rock thank you | 2011-06-18 18:09:00 Author: Squidge99 Posts: 203 |
Thanks, those cracks really bug me. Especially when trying to make my own background. | 2011-06-18 20:25:00 Author: Morgalaga Posts: 164 |
I was thinking about trying this in my upcoming level but I was afraid it might cause some corner editing errors... Oh well I'll just have some borders | 2011-06-19 02:37:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |
...glue the materials together. Aaaaargh! I knew I was missing something obvious! | 2011-06-19 07:35:00 Author: BlackWolfe Posts: 299 |
I thought this was common knowledge. It's especially interesting working with this glitch as you can come across different visual effects based on which material merges into which and whether the gas fuses with the solid or the solid with the gas. One thing you should know is that one of your materials may not show up. A quick fix for this is to change the material of what isn't showing to any form of glass. You can sticker the glass to be whatever solid color you like and if this doesn't show up properly, it can be fixed by turning the material with the sticker that won't show up into gas, detaching it, switching it's layer, de-lethalizing it, placing the sticker, re-lethalizing it, re-fusing it (by switching back to the layer), and un-lethalizing it again. An important thing to note here is that anytime you want to perform fission, or splitting the two materials apart again, you should always lethalize one of them and then detach it. Detaching without lethalizing one causes one to shake uncontrollably until separating itself automatically and spinning everything in its path out of the way, seriously. Hopefully this can help you all too. I was thinking about trying this in my upcoming level but I was afraid it might cause some corner editing errors... Oh well I'll just have some borders Val, you're telling me that you've never used this technique in one of your published levels? *Dies inside* | 2011-06-20 03:40:00 Author: WoodburyRaider Posts: 1651 |
Hey, you can also get rid of borders another way. Found it once while goofing around in create mode. -So, open corner editor and somewhere on teh object have three corner edit points very close together -drag the middle on up away from the other two a tiny bit, then move it toward one of the corners. This gets rid of the border when done right, and if made small enough is normally unnoticable. | 2011-07-02 00:16:00 Author: Ricky-III Posts: 732 |
