How can I do this?
Archive: 9 posts
Okay, so I have a movie camera that starts as soon as the level does. I'm using it as a title screen. Anyways, I have one song hooked up to play during it, but I want it to stop and another song start after the camera transitions over to the player. I've looked around a bit and haven't found anything(maybe I wasn't looking good enough). What's the easiest way I can do this? | 2011-06-16 19:55:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'm at my office so I can't check this, but did you try hooking the movie camera output to the second song's trigger input? | 2011-06-16 20:53:00 Author: RoharDragontamer Posts: 397 |

you could attach the camera and the songs to a sequencer or just have the songs alone in a sequencer and set the timing to what ever preference so that by the time the camera has moved over to the character the second song starts playing on the sequencer. Basically if it takes the camera 10 secs to move to character then the sequencer should be set to play each segment for ten secs. The song should play even after the sequencer ends not 100% though as I'm at work and can't test it but I'm sure for my deadville hollow level that's what i did to change the song once the game begins. If i'm wrong then please correct me and i will attempt to find an alternate solution. | 2011-06-19 08:46:00 Author: Lordwarblade Posts: 761 |
Thanks everyone, I'll give each a try and let you know what my outcomes are. | 2011-06-19 10:49:00 Author: Unknown User |
I've got the camera, the music, and the sequencer all working, but I've ran into another problem. The way I want everything to go, is before you even spawn; it takes you to the movie camera stays idle for 45 seconds, then transistions over to the player. I have the title and/or start of the level completely dark with hologram material and neon material. There's two things I'm having trouble with. ONE: How do I get the title/movie camera to play before the player even spawns? TWO: I'm trying to use a Global Lighting Tool, but with the player spawning it ruins what I have. I don't want the lighting to change until the player spawns, but the way I have it now; the players spawns and the lighting changes; but it ruins the title/movie camera. How can I fix or prevent this? | 2011-06-20 00:43:00 Author: Unknown User |

How can I fix or prevent this? One. Set a player tag on the entry spawn portal. Connect that to your sequencer. Your movie will play before they are even done spawning in. Check out the YouTube link in my Sig for my Jumper level. I think I did exactly what you are trying to do. Two. Set the Global lighting to how you want the player to see it when they spawn in. Then, place a Global lighting tag on your sequencer for when you want it to change. Hope that helps. | 2011-06-20 01:20:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |

I want it to be instant as soon as the camera moves back to the player, but I can't seem to get it to work with the sequencer or by itself. With the sequencer it gradually changes and by itself it changes as soon as the level starts. EDIT; Nevermind, I figured it out. Just had to hook the cameras output to the Tweaker. Everything's working properly now. Thank you. | 2011-06-20 02:27:00 Author: Unknown User |
I'd just recommend a player sensor hooked up to the sequencer, which has the first music on it as well as movie cameras. After everything's on the sequencer, lengthen it and add the second music, which will cancel out the first. | 2011-06-20 21:37:00 Author: L1N3R1D3R Posts: 13447 |
