What are the time periods the Story is based off?

Archive: 11 posts

I know that Storymode is based of 6 time periods, but I'm not really sure what Eve's Asylum, Avalonia, and The Cosmos are based off.

DaVinci's Hideout - The Middle Ages (I'm not sure if that's what that time's called)
Victoria's Laboratory - The Victorian Times
Factory of a Better Tomorrow - The Industrial Revolution
Avalonia - The Future
Eve's Asylum - ???? (I've been told it's the Garden of Eden period, but WTF is that?(I'm Atheist))
The Cosmos - The End of the World

Can anyone tell me what the proper name for DaVinci's time is, and what time periods Avalonia, Eve's Asylum, and The Cosmos are?

Uhh,i think Avalonia is based on beliefs about the future.

Me too, but I though it went from earliest to latest. Going from Avalonia to Eve's Asylum would be backwards but that probably doesn't make sense. I think The Cosmos is about people leaving the planet because bad stuff happening there (the Negativitron.) What about Eve's Asylum? It could be the 60's - 70's hippie period, but that doesn't seem right.

I think I get it then

Starting from Avalonia, every time zone if based off beliefs about the future (yes, even the asylum)

Avalonia: Beliefs about how Technology would improve
Eve's Asylum: Beliefs about a time in the future where the world gets knocked back to non-technology times
Cosmos: Beliefs about 2012- I mean the end of the world

Edit: I'm an atheist too, but i just researched about the Garden of Eden period, its apparently the period where the first man and woman (which was actually named Eve, coincidence?) have been born by god.

Wait, why? They aren't all based on time periods. Especially the asylum.2011-06-16 16:06:00

I'm not sure they have time periods. Revealing the first spoiler here shows how Mm were thinking when creating the themes:

DaVinci's Hideout - The Renaissance
Victoria's Laboratory - Victorian Times
Factory of a Better Tomorrow - The Cold War
Avalonia - Typical vision of what the future will be like.
Eve's Asylum - Well it is sort of based on the Garden of Eden but if I had to pick an actual time period I'd say prehistoric.
The Cosmos - Doesn't really have a time period.

The Hideout - Renaissance Italy
The Laboratory - The Victorian times
The Factory of A better Tomorrow - The big depression, industrialism.
The Academy - Future
The Asylum - Eve and Adams time in paradise, showing how mentally disturbed everyone was back then due to incest.
The Cosmos - Armageddon.

I'd rather like to think that Eve's asylum is a bit like the setting of Adventure Time. So long after a nuclear war that the Earth has begun anew.2011-06-16 20:18:00

They weren't supposed to be all time periods. Mm originally stated that they wanted to combine movements from history, I think they were:
Davinci's Hideout: Techno Renaissance
Victoria's Lab: Steam & Cake
Factory OABT: Neon Propaganda
Avalonia: Fluffy Hightech
Eve's Asylum: Designer Organic
The Cosmos: Handmade Arcade

Hope this answers your question
