South Parks last series ???

Archive: 15 posts

ive heard alot of rumours that T&M are finishing the series at 15 because they dont have ''fun'' any more making south park and there tying up all the loose ends like telling us why Kenny keeps coming back to like and who Carmans real dad is , makes sense really but i dont want it to end... well all good thing must come to an end i suppose

well tbh im surprised it lasted this far the stuff they get away with is insane

isit going to end and will it even bother you that they will stop making south park?

I think the past few series have gone down hill really, they focus to much on what happens in the news, rather than random things that happened in the first few series. Like the underpants knomes haha, that was funny.

The novelty has also gone with them introducing better graphics, one of south parks novelties was they they created basic/crappy graphics, but recently they've been getting their designs to make 3d type graphics, which in my opinion doesn't make it 'south park'. Maybe just a personal thing there.

But it would be good to see how it ends with Kenny and Cartman, that's if the rumours are actually true. I can't see them finishing it for another few series, as long as theirs news out there, they'll keep creating new episodes.

What? Nooooo! D:
Well, at least there's reruns.

EDIT: I googled it and can't find anything official. It seems like just a rumor.

yes it is just a rumour (for now) but it is a very good one
watch the "you're getting old" episode which is the latest one
imagine that the fight between stan's mum and dad is actualy matt and trey fighting (the creators)
it reallly seems like it will end soon

Yeah it's most likely coming to the end. In the last episode, the characters were fighting about how it was getting old doing the same crap every week etc etc..

Whatever, they just are lazy bums who have enough money now so they don't really care. The south park creators are real pompous idiots in my opinion.

Jealous much?

It would be a shame if South Park comes to an end now, I hope we get at least 1 more series from them. They are finally starting to get good at the story telling craft.
If you watch the early southparks they are crass and juvenile - and frankly just not that funny... they rely purely on "Shock" humour, but if you don't find it shocking, then where's the humour?

Where-as now they are making proper satire, some of the best Satire being broadcast. They create a narrative thread, usually parodying a classic movie or genre, and use it to crystallize some complex political or social issue that may have garnered attention in the news... and then play out the argument through the narrative thread. It's actually a genius bit of storytelling. And they usually manage to cram in a personal insult to some celebrity... as if the entire narrative, and political social argument was all just an excuse for them to personally insult some celebrity they don't like. That's what I find funniest.

The South Parks are getting better and better... it would be a shame for them to end just when they're starting to get good.

I love south park, But in my opion the healthiest course for it would be to take a break, Of two or three years. That way when they do come back, The episodes are at the top of there game. Obviously they would finish this series.........2011-06-15 18:05:00

Btw, it's starting to get annoying that people are using the word series when the correct term is season. A series is the entire show with all its episodes and a season is just part of that show. http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs46/i/2009/222/c/9/Grammar_Nazi_by_NachtElf.gif2011-06-15 22:08:00

Series and season are both correct terms it's another one of those international variances in language.

Would feel bittersweet if this was true as the show is probably one of the few animated works I enjoy to this day. I do enjoys the pop cultural shoutouts and spoofs to a certain extent but I feel like its reaching a point of critical mass where the show is having trouble telling its own stories.And while Southpark has displayed increased wit in its storytelling craft as the seasons ran it there was always that not quite subtle undercurrent that the show was also getting increasingly meanspirited with the fanbase taking the messages a bit too seriously (not that there weren't legitimate points to be had) which is actually something that I've heard Matt and Tray don't particularly like as they'd prefer people coming up with their own opinions. If that is the case it might be for the best if they realize when the curtain should fall.
A good series displays the ability to go on for a long time but can have its legacy tarnished for not knowing when to quit whereas a great series knows how to go out on top.

I can't count the amount of time I've been in arguments about *what-ever* and said something like "SouthPark illustrated it perfectly in Episode "X"';
They've been running for that long and covered such a broad-range of topics, it's hard to argue about things that they haven't covered.

I would be satisfied if they never really call an end to the proceedings - but reduce the frequency of the episodes... down to just "specials";
So they can spend some time doing what-ever it is they want to do, and only return to southpark once they have more and relevant things to say.

I know so many people that didn;t watch it past series 3 - because it was all just juvenile shock humour... and won't believe me when I tell them just how good it has gotten.

Well according to this:

http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/tv/matt-trey-give-south-park-fans-hope-for-the-shows-future.php

at around 3:00 they talk about how they still love South Park and how they have a good time making the show.

So yeah I think Matt & Trey is either gonna change South Park up or just keep on doing what they do.

Either way I'm fine, just don't cancel or I'll probably have to throw out my cable box!
