Follow/Gravity Logic HELP Please
Archive: 5 posts
This is what I want: Want enemys to follow the landscape up and down hill and go after player sackbot without crashing aginst the landscape if theres a hill. If anyone knows how to do this without making the enemys crash tell me. This has been a big problem of mine. My enemys have no wheels or peg legs. I need something like a Resist grinding material tweeks and a gravity tweek and material stats changer to something like smooth glass. I have some enemys like bats that float so that might be another problem there. | 2011-06-12 12:02:00 Author: venat Posts: 715 |
Haven't tried it, but your sackboy could leave "breadcrumb" tags. This way it will create a path for the enemies. It may take a lot of finetuning tho. Using selectors for different followers, the priority could be the sackbot, but if the invisible hit box around the enemy hits ground, it could prefer the players breadcrumbs to adjust its position. Just brainstorming! | 2011-06-12 12:46:00 Author: hesido Posts: 166 |
I came up with this idea for a hovering vehicle, but you could use the same concept: http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4233/img0136qp.jpg Essentially you have a track below the actual land which you objects can follow, then attach them to a wheel with a spring, rod, hollow or whatever so it looks like they're floating. You can do it with one wheel and use a gyroscope to keep them upright. It looks like this in play mode: http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/5116/img0137vf.jpg | 2011-06-12 16:07:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |
