Is It Me Or...

..has LBP2 been...a little off? I mean, the community levels on the cool page are just H4H, P4P, and give aways. I also find that the amount of players online dropped drastically from the usual 10,000 or so now to 3,000... Not only that, when I do happen to play with people online, they are usually jerks that kick you in VS. games for having higher scores or people who try to steal costumes/goodies. I'm starting to feel there isn't anything left on LBP anymore but noobs and thieves. It's kinda lonely and REALLY boring. I honestly have that feeling that I want to leave again, but I really don't want to. Anyone know what's up with the community lately? | 2011-06-12 04:45:00 Author: Shadowstarkirby Posts: 205 |
PSN just returned, many left, and many more are just playing the freebies they got, so I'm pretty sure that'll reduce some numbers, m8. About the H4Hers and jerks only, well back when there was LBP1 it was the same, only difference is there was no auto-reject button, but they usually also just kicked you out or leave right away, thieves have always there, they can just steal costumes as well now and LBP1 was waaaay more overrun with H4H/ bomb survival/ giveaways etc, than LBP2. Srry m8, but the LBP community just wasn't as nice as everyone expected, nothing to blame of something being "off' but just how it's always been. The population is the only thing that is down atm, but other than that, all you said sounds normal LBP community behaviour as far as I can remember. | 2011-06-12 05:01:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |

I guess I expected too much of the community. I forgot to mention that the community also feels isolated somewhat; players often reject more than they accept. Is it because of load screens? | 2011-06-12 05:15:00 Author: Shadowstarkirby Posts: 205 |
I would like to remind you that the internet in general is full of hackers, thieves, jerks, griefers, spammers, and all around unfriendly people. Actually, let me rephrase that. LIFE is full of those people. You can't just throw yourself into the fray, you have to put some effort into finding the gems. You could invite some of the good people on this site to play with you (me excluded, I'm not allowed to play with strangers online ) and there are other categories besides the "Cool Levels" section. I actually never use the "Cool Levels" section. You can heart the more famous players and see what they play, or you can find decent levels in newest levels section or something like that. You have to remember that good levels can't be made nearly as quickly as spam levels like bomb survivals, so don't expect a whole ton of them yet (it has only been six months). If a level has a full description, a creative title (or at least doesn't say shark/bomb survival; my house; unnamed; a bunch of adjectives), and a level picture thing that had at least six ounces of effort put into it, it's probably worth playing. | 2011-06-12 05:37:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
Yeah. A lot of rubbish has clogged up the cool pages on LBP2 (I cannot imagine what LBP1's pages will be like back there), as well as there being a large chance that you'll join an idiot, theif, troll etc. But there is the underground movement after all. And that's us, right? | 2011-06-12 15:44:00 Author: Denim360 Posts: 482 |
Remember, a free game was LBP 1 so theres bound to be a amazing large wave of n00bs coming are way. I think LBP 1 is destroying LBP2. If Mm would separate the games (no LBP1 games in cool pages) that should do something. | 2011-06-12 16:09:00 Author: dyna Posts: 260 |

I counted 24 LBP1 levels and 6 LBP2 levels on Pg 1 friday night. | 2011-06-12 16:41:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Just filter out the LBP1 levels with the triangle button. | 2011-06-12 17:07:00 Author: GameRoom Posts: 200 |

yeah, i know how to filter them, but 95% of the community doesnt filter them. It just makes it alot harder for lbp2 creators to get plays for their levels when they are having to compete against all this LBP1 trash that has flooded the LBP2 cool pages. | 2011-06-12 18:16:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Your leaving everything to chance if you're only relying on the cool levels section. You need to get the word out there about your level. You can find other underplayed levels, play, then review them. You can use the F4F system here on LBPCentral, and don't just post your level, play others levels. There things you can actually do to get plays on your levels. | 2011-06-12 18:52:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
Cool levels are almost a must if you want to get more than a few hundred plays on your level. Unless you are lucky enough to get a MM pick. | 2011-06-13 03:53:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe it has to be a new level to get on the Cool Levels page. | 2011-06-13 05:12:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
Here are the stages from LBP1 BL2 - LBP2 AL2B The New Age The day LBP1 came out, people thought of amazing ideas! Sadly this didn't last long as the end of The New Age ended with a single H4H and bomb survival... The Dark Beginning LBP1 was starting to turn into a horrid place. great creators became corrupted... The Dead Age Every gem and shiny part of LBP1 has been destroyed or shrouded by the darkness... It seemed like there was no hope... The Purification Age Suddenly the whole community was was purified of the evil! Sackboy saw millions of glowing, colorful lights in his eyes! The Bright Age The age of when LBP2 was full of amazingness..... The Battle/ CURRENT TIME: There is a battle for the cool pages between the amazing, and the H4H. So now we know the whole history. If we want to help stop this we need to completely make LBP1 a distant memory | 2011-06-13 05:26:00 Author: vanok Posts: 63 |
Yeah, only new levels that are published will be on the cool pages, but you get 95% of your plays on your level the first week it is published unless you get MM picked or your level gets on the highest rated page. | 2011-06-13 05:43:00 Author: Xx_Mr_Orange_xX Posts: 115 |
Sorry, wrong thread. | 2011-06-13 06:25:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
The Battle/ CURRENT TIME: There is a battle for the cool pages between the amazing, and the H4H. So now we know the whole history. If we want to help stop this we need to completely make LBP1 a distant memory Or... you know... win the battle, and if we just completely forget what happened with LBP1, everything will just repeat. | 2011-06-13 06:51:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
I've seen many levels out there with the same message, "Stop the H4H","Save LBP","Anti-Spam War", etc. Really there is no war, People will just keep making these levels. They're just a bunch of noobs and I'm pretty sure most of them are aware of there actions. Even if only 1 good level is published every day, That's still 1 level every day man. | 2011-06-13 11:45:00 Author: DarrienEven Posts: 217 |
Even if only 1 good level is published every day, That's still 1 level every day man. Which, at last count, makes about 160. Which is pretty good considering that most platforming games do not have 160 unique levels. Not to mention the fact that they aren't all platformers, and some can take up to 30 minutes to complete (one level I played took longer than an hour, and it was a platformer. | 2011-06-13 16:37:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
It's a good thing my costume is 98% DLC (with even one that you can't get anymore) so good luck trying to steal THAT | 2011-06-14 19:27:00 Author: TheUltraDeino Posts: 1274 |
While people say all the time that LBP goes worse and worse and 1 day they say it comes better and better, I think it has always been quite a same. At beginning though, people couldn't still create awesome lvls, but they anyway did their best usually. And most of those "We will fight"-levels are just to get really much hearts. Of course I like that people will get know what is wrong and what is right, but usually person whose whole planet is full of lvls like "H4H-1", H4H-2" and so on won't really just delete them and start creating real levels. And there always will be in Cool page some copyed levels (Now just little more because people got LBP in Welcome back). | 2011-06-14 20:27:00 Author: Lakera-13 Posts: 85 |
