Rainbow Warriors (parts one and two)

Archive: 4 posts

Here goes nothing ; I have recently published the first two parts of a little saga that I have been planning. I have used the level ID feature to pull the information of the second, the first is very easy to find through LBP.me if you follow the link. If you can, I suggest playing them in order - probably the best thing to do as they are sequential parts to a story.
Now to actually describe them: the first part is called "The Rising" and starts the story off with a visit to the world hub. However, upon arrival all the colour is stolen and upon travelling through the town to see the mayor the extent of the theft becomes apparent. This first level is fairly short and is merely just the introduction to the story with hopefully a couple of nice features that haven't been used before (such as my method for "removing colour", went with something other than changing the colour correction).
The second level, Fathoms' Temple, is the journey to the water realm to collect the colour blue, with which you can then collect the colour red through control of water. The colour red will give fire to collect green, and once you have all three you will be able to access the final level and boss.
At the moment, as previously stated, the first two levels are available and the remaining three are currently under construction or being planned. The type of gameplay is, I hope, fairly nice and simple and I believe I have produced a couple of polished yet enjoyable levels. Everything behaves as I want it to and I have tested them repeatedly, so if something seems a bit odd it was probably planned, if it seems very odd then it could be a glitch - let me know and I will correct it. In the later levels I will use the controllinator and creatinator a lot more. So, whilst these levels are not groundbreaking, I hope you enjoy them.
If you do play them, then let me know on this thread and I will get back to you as soon as possible and play any level you wish me to.

Edit: I have managed to link both into this thread. Also, I haven't been around for a while and am fairly inactive on these forums. Therefore, if I owe you feedback, then don't hesitate to drop me a message via PSN.

Hey I just gave your level a go and it's a great puzzle/platformer, definitely one of the better one's that I've played. The gameplay was fun and there was a good variety in all the puzzles, the one where you need to bring the lights into the center was especially great and a lot more cerebral compared to most other puzzles I've seen. As for the visuals, they were solid and I think the objects / animals you made really stood out, there was a lot of detail in them and they were well done over all. The one thing though I think you could improve on though would be to spice up the the temple and floor sections itself. The pits for example you made were just square cut outs, I think these regions could have a little more depth in them (use all 3 layers). Maybe add some more decorations on the walls also. Lastly, the music choice seemed a bit odd since it's techno-y, I think something from Eve's area / PoC pack would match the sort of sea horse / ocean biome atmosphere a lot better.

Overall I really enjoyed it I'll keep lookout for your next installments.

If you have the time I'd appreciate it if you could give my level a go, it's just a music pack so it won't take long: Enigmatic Music Pack (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=56614-Enigmatic-Music-Pack)

I did want the level to have an overall squarish style to it, thought it kind of suited the temple theme. The next part that I'm working on will have a fairly rough hewn effect. I do agree, though, that it could use a little something extra; however, the thermometer is full lol so I'm not really too sure what to do about that...

Something I noticed though, was that you could see what I was working on in the background in the first level if you enter with two people, so I implore people to play it on their own. Otherwise it just cheapens the feel of the level.
Finally, couldn't actually get it to work in my first post, but the link to the first level in the story is as follows:

I have left appropriate feedback for your level as well, roffle.
