Is it just me, or are there a lot of jerks online recently?

Archive: 25 posts

I've found that, in versus rounds especially, game leaders either return to pod at a really random point in a level then either ignore me or boot me when I ask why, or just kick me if I'm winning (so often I've joined a game that was already going so they're a few points ahead, and they're fine with me being there until I suddenly rack up some points and get ahead of them, then I just get kicked). Has it always been like this, is it a more recent problem, or have I just been really unlucky when it comes to people I'm matched up with? Also, is there a way to report people like this, or is there not/ is not a reportable offence?2011-06-11 19:35:00

Well, it happened to me one time. I was doing that random join think to see if I can get the Trophy, and usually, if I have a good costume on, they will rush to their moon to copy, but when I go and play on a level that involves points, I get yelled at by the people for "hogging the points"2011-06-11 19:54:00

wow, I've never had some petty enough to complain about point hogging. Surely if someone isn't good enough to get the points, and they want the points, they shouldn't be online?2011-06-11 20:03:00

It's like talking to a monkey. there is no sense to it.
and a monkey is most likely less annoying then them type of people.

this is why it's a bad idea to join random people while alone.
always buddy up before going on a dangerous adventure
and ware plain costumes till you know they are cool minded folk. *mew

A good way to prevent that is to either reset your costume or put a lot of DLC stickers hidden on yourself as it is likely they don't have much DLC.

I never really run into anyone mean online, but that's mainly because I rarely play online with people in the first place...

However, I once needed to get a high score to unlock the costumes on Attack of the Mutant Marshmallows so I tried to play that level online with random people.
When I joined in two other people were there. They had the same goal as me, so we both replayed the level continuously and they seemed really nice, we once got 5 points away from the score we needed so we kept going and finally got it! :hero:

When one of them typed out something it was in Kanji, so I guess I was playing with people from Japan. I in the end said thanks and left; and now I may never see them again.

I either get kicked out, because...:

-The Host is a Prick
-I keep getting a Higher Score
-I won't share my Costume(Lawl, good luck with that)
-I apparently "Troll" on their favorite Creators(I got kicked out, because I said A_Pain_Killer was just desperate for attention to some guy who "Idolized" him)
-I won't share my Creations(Again, good luck with that)
-I don't like the levels they like(Seriously, another Bomb Survival?)
-Me or my friend are lagging
-I won't GameShare with them(Yeah, ever since I got the Slurpee T-Shirt from a very nice person, I've been asked to GameShare it numerous times, even though I'm full on Accounts, so they couldn't download it...)
-I say Hero Hair is waaaaaaaaay over-used(I mean, come on, isn't it?)
That's about it. :kz:

So he gets a warning on LBP.me when you release a new level, so he can boo it again?

to bad we cant block people on lbp2 as we do with XMB block list. I have to delete rude comments and bad word messages on a daily basis. i recommend creating a unknow account use it to drawl away the stalkers and attackers.2011-06-14 11:35:00

I think they should let us go even more the Youtube way and let us be able to disable level comments.

A large portion of the Playstation Network community is dominated by 8 through 11-year-old boys, a large reason in which I joined Little Big Planet Central to find a bit more of a mature network with players who have similar interests (Love you guys on LBPC).

From playing LittleBigPLanet 1 and 2, I find that lots of jerks come on at certain times. Think about it: It's summer, so a lot of the younger kids might be on summer break, allowing them to play LBP more often. Large increases in noobiness can also be found around the holidays, where many people would recieve the game as a gift, making an increase in the sackboy population.

My advice? Don't worry about it. Noobs intentionally invite me to their moon and tell me to pull out some objects I made, so they can blatantly steal it. Also, if you have any, it might not be a bad idea to put alot of DLC on your costume, that way the jerks won't be able to steal it.
Hope that helps!

Actually, i did something about two weeks ago, that i never thought i would ever, ever do.

I reported someone for the first time.

Now over the years ive seen some right scallywags online, but as i was browsing through a bunch of new levels, i came
across a comment that this person (if i can call it that) left on a level.

So i went to its profile and noticed that it had left numerous comments that were seriously offensive, even racist.
Infact i have no idea how it managed to type these remarks without it been censored

So i took some pics of these comments and sent them into Good Grief land.

Sad thing is, i fear it was a waste of time cause i see its still around, leaving some of its signature comments on random levels.

But i would have to say that the Jerk count is no way near as high as those you find on COD lol.
(Whats with people who play objective games, and don't do any objectives whatsoever?)

Jerk, on LBP's community?
Nawwww. xD

No but seriously, I hate to break it to you, but judt because LBP is a nice game, doesn't mean its immune to getting a buncha jerks for comunity, which really sucks to, its really fun when not playing with jerks.

Great. That really fills my heart with warmth for the community.

On the other hand, at least he/ she is using hearts as they were meant to, book marks, and not some rating tool everyone wants to hog.. ;p

:kz:Oh, I got a story to tell you guys!

Just last night, I "Dived In" for like the thousand time & finally got into a Room. They were playing that mech level (http://lbp.me/v/1epb2m) that everyone's starting to play. Now, believe me, I don't like the "Cool Pages" that much, but this level's pretty sweet. I even made my own mech (http://lbp.me/p/3rjtbr) in it. But this was different. I joined a kid, about 8 or 10, with a mic, that would laugh at nothing. Yeah. He kept laughing like he was the Joker or something. Someone else joined. He quickly rushed over to the Checkpoint & started to Spawn-Kill the person. I could here him laughing like crazy & I felt sorry for the guy getting killed. So what happened?

...

I rammed that son-of-a-sack with my own mech & eventually pushed hard enough to break his mech's body in half! The other person got into another mech, while I spawn killed the Host. What was a little kid who enjoyed Spawn-Killing now turned into a crying wuss-puss. He kicked out the person & I Followed him. To my shock, he only spoke Spanish. He knew very little English, but it was okay. I'm Mexican, so I could understand what he was saying.(Yup, I'm Mexican. Problem?)In the end, I discovered he was very nice & talented in level creating. We both ended up being friends. If you have the time, check out his LBP.Me page (http://lbp.me/u/N0b4T0_) & try out his levels. They're actually pretty good.(And don't be afraid to try my level, too.) (http://lbp.me/v/zxefd8)

So what's the Moral of the Story?...Um...the moral is...uh...

...

Don't be a jerk or ya get rammed by a 2-ton mech?

...

Yeah, sounds about right. :kz:

Still doesn't explain why he hearted me though does it? I think Misty probably hit the nail on the head when he suggested that by hearting me the kid would receive an alert next time I publish a level, so he can boo that too.

Which thinking about it, means I have a stalker.

Maybe he did it just because to troll you? succeeded I guess lol
there are SOOOOOO darn much trolls in lbp and my guess is that are all second accounts of people who actually create stuff with their first account. when seeing you disliked one of his levels he switch to acc2 and troll you to death.
I mean there are so obviously trolls going on... A guy "SWANOS" (hope you read this you little %/&/%) went to ALL my levels and leave in every level the same comment: "copied".... and he did not even boo them... its just plain fun for them lol

in these levels where they say you're hogging the points, are the levels VS levels? Isn't the point to score more points/beat them? what's happened to our community?2011-06-15 21:47:00

I personally would rather play as the host than to play as a follower. That way I can play some levels that I KNOW are going to be good, and that aren't overplayed or overduped. (bomb survival, shark levels, hide and seek, etc)

But that doesn't stop the players from ragequitting whenever I outdo them in competition.

Well, I never though people could get kicked from the game because of being in the lead in VS mode. IT's just only a lil competition for fun and nothing to be taken so seriously.. If you're going to kick the player that is in the lead, you would be so unfair to them, all their hard earnings are gone. FML.2011-06-16 19:23:00
