Hey everyone. Just wanted to make this short and sweet and hopefull anyone who reads this will spread the word. If a level has SOME sign of effort, do not rate their level "Boo." Regardless of how screwed up your "Standards" are. Get real... people are designing these levels so that YOU can play them. And you're rating them down?! At least don't leave a rating at all. I boo levels that are just scoreboards and prize bubbles. But when someone goes to the effort of adding traps and obstacles (regardless of ORIGINALITY OR STYLE) i rate them up everytime. I've seen so many people rate GREAT levels down just because they were too difficult for them or they didn't match their preferred style. Talk about immature. So hopefully this will change at least one person's outlook on how to rate levels in this game. That is all. | 2011-06-11 18:36:00 Author: Nick930930 Posts: 878 |

So hopefully this will change at least one person's outlook on how to rate levels in this game. And... why do you get to decide how everyone should rate levels? For me, if I enjoyed a level, I rate it up. If I disliked, I rate it down. If my response is "meh, nothing too special" I don't rate it. I have and certainly will continue to rate levels that have SOME sign of effort "boo". Because even though you can put a lot of effort in, the level can still be shockingly bad. A couple of levels that have even had highly detailed visuals I've rated "boo" simply because it was very poorly designed and I get frustrated playing it. | 2011-06-11 19:29:00 Author: Nuclearfish Posts: 927 |
I can't say I agree. I remember the developers saying that the "YAY" or "BOO" system was designed to reflect the community's reactions/personal opinions, while the reviews are there for saying whether whether it is actually decent or not. I'm probably wrong on whether that is their intended purpose or not, but like it or not, some levels just suck despite the effort put into them. However, I do believe more people should provide constructive feedback when they "BOO" a level that someone obviously put effort into. As a creator, I just ignore the people who just "BOO" and whine. | 2011-06-12 06:03:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |

Rate system is to rate the level, liked level? YEY, didn't like level? BOO, mixed feeling or dont care about rating? dont rate, everyone have law to rate as they want. What ever you like it or not, you need to deal with it, so you need to be resisitive, but if your level is truly good you gonna have 10 times more yeys then boos anyway I notice maximum yey ration is 10x over boos after that you level need to be a extrodenery to cross this bondery. You also can't force people to make be constractive, it needs skill, and most people who do that are creators themselfs who have fell what is well made in the level and what is not. Also not to forget avarage age of LBP player, that you can't help it | 2011-06-12 14:48:00 Author: Shadowriver Posts: 3991 |
I only dislike levels with dark matter platforms and random score bubbles with story collected characters ond obstacles, the ones that were just thrown together in minutes | 2011-06-12 15:02:00 Author: Alternative_sack Posts: 409 |

What fun would LBP be if we were forced to do things we don't really want to do? If that means we have to deal jerks and all around rude people, so be it. | 2011-06-12 16:25:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
It doesn't matter how much or how little effort you put into a level, if I don't like it then I will give it a 'boo'. If I like it then I'll give it a 'yay'. | 2011-06-12 22:19:00 Author: ADS_LEGEND Posts: 140 |
It is incredibly annoying when people boo your hardwork, but theres nothing you can do to stop it. At least if a level is good the majority of ratings will be yays. | 2011-06-12 22:34:00 Author: gigglecrab Posts: 232 |
This kind of approach is exactly why there's so much crap flooding the new/cool levels pages, and is honestly only vaguely different from H4H. Yes, people put hard work into things. And it sucks to not get the recognition you think you deserve. But the simple fact is this: not everyone can be an astronaut. Some levels just aren't any good, and you are doing a disservice not only to the creator--one would hope that a boo followed by constructive criticism would inspire better creation--but to the entire community by leaving more crap in the pile that needs to be sorted through to find hidden gems. | 2011-06-13 06:29:00 Author: roux- Posts: 379 |
I just went and Boo'd all the OP's levels. Seriously Nick... don't tell me what to do or how to rate anything, regardless of how screwed up your "Opinions" are. That is all. | 2011-06-13 06:31:00 Author: Rustbukkit Posts: 1737 |
So if someone puts some effort into a terrible level, I should still give them a Yay? Or if someone puts little effort into a decent level (it happens), I should give them a boo? Your logic doesn't hold up. | 2011-06-13 11:38:00 Author: DarrienEven Posts: 217 |
