Need a bit of help with my airlock-ish-thingy

Okay, I am currently working on my first LBP level and I am trying to make an air lock type thing to switch from underwater to dry and Ive run into some problems. 1. I want it open and close behind the player and then stay shut. But the door I am using runs on pistons and they really dont feel like stopping at the right time or in the right position. Is there a diffrent kind of door that would work better for that? 2. I am also having trouble sequencing. I want the water to go down and then the door opens. I have been using a timer, but for some reason the door wolnt open when the timer ends and I have triple checked the connections. Any simpler way I can rig this without adding a second switch? Sorry if this seems silly but its frustrating and I really want this effect any help or tutorials that you think I could use would be appreciated. | 2011-06-11 17:20:00 Author: Unknown User |
The quick and dirty way: Set the pistons for each door to be forward/backward. Place a water sensor in the airlock, connect it to the pistons. Whichever one needs to be closed while the room is full of water, set to 'reversed.' Voila. Or you can attach the water sensor to a timer, and then to the pistons, so you can have a pause between water raising (or lowering) and doors opening. | 2011-06-11 19:21:00 Author: roux- Posts: 379 |
