Has anyone else noticed a massive reduction in the online population of LBP2 since PSN came back up?

Where previously I would see an online population of around 6000 to 8000, now I'm only seeing 600 to 800 people online at any given time.

Is it just a coinkydink that I'm on when nobody else is? or is there a crisis in LBP2 online population?

It's the summer.

Everyone's outside and/or doing exams. I'm sure it will get back up around July time.

Ah.. I live in Scotland... occasionaly a bright burning orange ball chases away that grey, wet thing we call "The Sky"... but once we sacrifice a few witches to it, it usually makes it go away again soon enough 2011-06-10 15:02:00

Im in Scotland also. And the Sun is very shy in our country. Anywho it will increase when it a)Reduces in price

and b)People play the free LBP1 game love it, then buy LBP2. That and the time we are on.

Summer?! This is definitely NOT summer...

Every day so far, the sky has constantly been grey and foggy, and our city's iconic sun is nowhere to be seen! We've tried everything to ward it off and it's still here! I can't call it summer until I get my sun back!

Wait a sec...

Do you recall writing something like that before.

On topic, well do keep in mind there's only about 200 there for the game and 32654641153545646346874984646445 who are there just for the easy Platinum, meaning without online they didn't care and had no way of getting their trophies, meaning they probably sold it or were amongst teh ones who traded PS3 altogether.

On the good side, if that theory is correct we've lost many H4Hers and gained a more concentrated community of actual players.

Yes, I'm afraid some daredevils like to do this sort of things.

Maniacs and circus performers mainly. I knew a guy who knew a guy who knew a guy that went outside once and.. *gulp* never came back in...

Also remember that a lot of us are still playing our welcome back games. Once I've finished all of them, I'll probably come and play some LBP2.

Another thing is that LBP2 seems to be pretty slow DLC wise, a lack of major DLC is making a few people a little bored of LBP2. Once the Move pack is out, I'm certain we'll get a sudden flood of players again.

i think everyone is going mad playing their free games from welcome back pack, so people will slowly come back to LBP and soon it will be even stronger than evar!!!1!!1111!!

I got the definition of 'outside' to anyone that doesn't know what it is

[I]out?side (out-sd, outsd)
n.
1. The part or parts that face out; the outer surface.
2.
a. The part or side of an object that is presented to the viewer; the external aspect.
b. Outward aspect or appearance: "You'll never persuade me that I can't tell what men are by their outsides" (George Eliot).
3. The space beyond a boundary or limit.
4. Sports A position at a distance from the inside or center, as of a playing field or racetrack.
5. The utmost limit; the maximum: We'll be leaving in ten days at the outside.

So LBP, the revolutionary online create game, which is one of the best games ever created, gets a few thousand players a day, and a game like Call of Duty, which is basicly the same as any other FPS gets an avg. 500,000 players a day?

This world today .__.

^ LBP is mostly for creative people and as we all know most people are not Creative,
and normally most people just want to nuke stuff in a game, as Creating is close to work and people want to have
fun while playing a game, not work. So we are lucky we get as many players as we do.
plus most days the player count hits 10000 or more in high active times. so not to bad really.

Isn't there a Pin badge for playing while there are at least 20,000 other players online at the same time?

Guess not many new players get that pin badge anymore then?

Noticed the same thing. Answer is quite easy: PSN welcome back pack. Its not that less people are online, but the most people playin diffrent stuff from psn/psn plus now. I noticed it on my friendslist which is 99% of old LBP2 friends and they are online but do not play LBP2. They play Dead Nation, LBP1, and a lot of people playin inFamous. So there is my hope that this really turn back now.
The answer "its summer" is ofcourse incorrect. Nobody cares if the sun is shining. when i do want to play i play. Besides its holiday in most countries now so the conclusion is that there have to be MORE online plays, but it is not. Well, hope for better times.

(only i dont believe you that you only have 600-800 people on in lbp2 LOL)
