hi Guys and Girls Artise1 here and i've been messing in create mode learning the some new stuff thanks to Compermc's tutorials and have made a test level to get feedback on how the controls and platfomers are. You play as a Ninja Cat that can do wall jumps and super jumps after rolling, its fast paced platforming and i think is pretty fun.

More like a Cat-Former! ...Ha!...

Anyway, I loved this! Veeeery fun concept. I'd love to see this used in a full level. It works awesome, and looks great too! I'm not sure, but maybe you could expand upon this later by allowing for a wall jump in another direction or something? There's a lot of possibilities.

Hearted this level. I await this tech to be used in a level by you

Anyway thanks guys for playing and loving it, so far no dislikes i do have a double jump chip ready but i took it out for this test, ill put it in the full level. This started out as learning how to make sackbots roll from Compermc tutorial and then just went on from there and Ninja Cat was born lol. I might start work on the full level in a few days and improve the bot a bit more.

Sure you can
Its a good Sackbot 'Demo' and i love the rolls and wall jumps he does. you got all the logic set up, if you can make this into a full functioning level im sure it will ring in the plays as soon as you publish.

Thank you very much for your feedback theres more features to come for the Ninja Cat, i allready have a double jump chip just didnt put in this demo until i balance a few things, im thinking of having a dash button and some other features whe i think of them if anyone has any suggestions it will be greatly appreciated.2011-06-13 01:02:00

Sweet job with the rolling physics and probley the best control on a platforming sackbot that I've seen.
Just wish you made it an anctual level instead of a test.

Thank Compermc's Tutorials for the roll There will be a full level for this, as so far its been met with great feedback I want to make it a really fun fast pace platformer and have parts where can interact with stuff and have fun messing around with stuff.2011-06-13 03:49:00

Ahhh Ninja Cat. I remember playing this. I freakin loved it! The controls worked so well and wall jumping was freakin cool.

I obviously think the level should have an actual theme and decorations set up even if its a tech demo, but regardless, still an awesome idea and funny too considering it's a Ninja Cat XD

However, I must be missing something, because I couldn't figure out how to do the "super jump", I always got stuck after doing the wall jump after the first checkpoint, as I couldn't get up the next high ledge. I left a note saying how to do it i updated it too make it easier as well, to do it start a roll and then hit X but not too sonn and he will jump higher and go further. i hope this helps you out.

@Nick930930 I made the level for it at 4am lol i just wanted it out there because i loved it loads and just wanted to share it lol I will be starting a level for it but it wont be out for a while as i want it to live up to its protential, ill release teaser pics as progress goes along.

Just found out Ninja Cat got its first dislike WHO THE HELL HATES NINJA CATS!!!! Obviously their a Nazi

This was a fun little tech demo. If you decided to add sprinting and/or double jumping, you would have a great character to build around. This definitely needs to be incorporated into a full level. My only question: were the notes supposed to display instructions? If so, they did not show for me for some reason.2011-06-15 04:09:00

Yer i only realised that when you close them in create they stay closed, d'oh. I fixed that now, and it turns out this is why i got those 2 dislikes :

Version 1.03 of Ninja Cat is finish and will be out tomoz i added 2 new features in the test level for you guys to... well test out, new abilities are double jump and the ledge grabbing, double jump explains itself but what ledge grabbing does is if you see something sticking out of a wall you can jump to it and Ninja Cat auto grabs and hangs from it, you can then jump up or across to the next ledge. Its also helpful for when just miss landing on a platform you can grab on the edge and pull yourself up.

Great news, the awesome creator Racingcreed will be doing scenery for the full level, so he's gonna bring his visual magic and i'll bring the awesome platforming gameplay.

Version 1.03 out, heres a list of improvements and fixes:


-Fix- Starting new roll animation while in the middle of one fixed.
-Fix- Tap X at the right time to do wall jump (before you could just hold X as you jumped at it)
-New- Double Jump added.
-New- Legde Grabbing, Jump and grab ledges and jump to the next one to climb up walls.

Not much needed fixing in Bot lol.

Nice job. All the mechanics are fun, and work well. The only real flaw I saw was in jumping from a grabbed ledge. When trying to go upwards as well, I would occasionally grab onto the ledge again, and thus get nowhere. Can't wait to see a full level with these mecahnics.2011-06-24 00:03:00

Hi. Such a fun level with very simple scenario! The cat tricks are so funny
You could make a whole platform level with that cat, for example climbing the forniture in a house or scaping from a dog in the street.

Been a while since i've update this but Ninja Cats on Version 1.05.


Improved many things logic wise, controls are improved and feel nice and smooth
Issues with ledge grabbing fixed and works perfect
Cut down logic of checkpoints loads and improved looks

Finish Ver 1.06 just havn't published yet. Its has much better roll and flip animations, they are really smooth and fluid and feel just so much better than Ver 1.05.2011-08-28 03:25:00

The Ninja Cat now has vastly improved animations that feel really smooth and is more faster paced.

Its not the same test area, just a little area to try out new bot. Please mess about with it and any problems you find can you report them either here, in review or on my profile thanks.

Abilities disabled are Ledge climb all other are on as these are the ones changed and need testing.

Ps. sorry for the lack of a level over the months, just been busy with life and wanted the bot to be perfect.

Its been a while since i posted on this but Ninja Cat has just been updated to Version 1.08

Ver 1.08 is now out! Redone the controls to be more fast paced and look sweet with its new flip animations. Redesigned parts of the level to flow a lot better with the faster gameplay.

I also removed double jump as it was causing issues, It will be added again when i figure a way to put it in without ruining gameplay.

Hey looked fun so i thought i'd reply to F4F now.

Overall i quite enjoyed this level i liked the different moves and stunts you could perform though i would have liked a standard double jump without the need of walls added in there. Also i wasn't to keen on the nasty blue death ground right where you teach the player how to do each move as it took two goes sometimes or more to get them right and dying every time was annoying.

The wall grabbing part took some getting use to and i was really wishing there was a checkpoint after it before the ceiling swinging as i just couldn'yt do the ceiling swining easily and kept dying.
I think this is where a lot of people will just give up and not rate your level.
I'm not keen of ceiling swinging as it is but liked how you made it so that the character held on himself.


The music was good and not obtrusive or anything and i liked the blue checkpoints.

Oh and when i climbed down the other side of the ceiling swing part my sackperson jumped out of the controlinator as i jumped towards the scoreboard and clipped through the floor and i landed at the bottom of the level unable to finish.

Can't wait to see a full level with better visuals made from this.

I finally updated this page since its been awhile. Ninja cat just got updated to Ver 1.10, this video is Ver 1.08 i think.

Gameplay has been improved vastly than this video shows, the double jump has been taken out as it was causing issues. The level itself has had a big change to make it flow much better, I added and fixed a few things thanks to player feedback.

So guys check it out and have fun

I added an extra checkpoint after the ledge climb just before the ceiling swing and i'm pretty sure I've prevented that rare glitch where you go through the floor when exiting the bot.

There was a standard double jump and it works really good but it was taken out a few updates ago because it caused issues in gameplay, accidental deaths and doing a double jump by accident instead of a wall jump if pressed to early. It will return in the full release.

I also improved fixed the position of the ledges and it plays a lot better at that section

If you get the chance, please play it again and check out the improvements.
