Ideas that I can't figure out. LBP2

Archive: 5 posts

Hello all.

I am trying to fill a room full of water. Then block that room off until the player gets thier vehicle to the right spot for the mag sensor to open the door and flood the room. So far, I have got the room sealed off but I can't seem to fill it with water, is it posible to do? If not I guess I am stuck with plan B and have flame throwing sackbots run out chase the player into the tunnel.)

Is it possible to set a top down vehicle to not bonce off of walls when it hits them? I want mine to place the battery into the slot, then kick the player out. I have no idea how to do either.

And here is the tough one, does anyone know and easy way to add health bars to a vehicle? I have gone thru the Youtube videos and the only ones that actually helped were meant to be put on a sackbot and I couldn't get those to work with a car. I also tried stealing the one from the dog and the hamster but I didn't know what to hook them up to. (You might want to use little words if you try and type it out on here.)

Lastly, I could use some help on the serpent shrine level of LBP1 for the 2p part. (I have tried online with random people and my friends and family and I just can't seem to get it.) My PSN is wiggledwiggles

Two more questions, I probably have a ton more but these are the only ones I am having issues with right now, is it possible to have an invisible track for a roller coaster? This one is more important, how can I line up a roller coaster track with the track and get it run smoothly? Mine bounces around like a kid in an inflatable tent.

Ok, first off you should go to youtube and watch the series lbplanetorials. It helps a lot. Second, please edit a post instead of double posting. It keeps threads tidier. Not to be a hitler or anything...2011-06-09 17:34:00

You can't have water in specific points on your map. It's dealt with globally which you can alter using water tweakers. You could achieve a similar effect to the one you describe by having the water slowly rise over time - this of course will be applied to the whole level and not just your one room.

I don't understand your second question. Use a material that isn't bouncy? And put what battery into what slot? You need to give more info here.

For vehicle damage it's going to be a setup of impact sensors and tag sensors working together to determine when your projectile or whatever is in contact with the vehicle. If you can give more info on what type of vehicle it is and what the projectiles will be I could help a bit more.

Thanks Xaif, I kinda figured I couldn't fill a single room with water.

My problem with the bouncing metal I still don't understand. I think it was the fact that I was using an object attached to regular material and then slamming that object into metal. I just took it out of the level and I will figure some other way make it all work together.

I found a great video to make a vehicle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKZ8JCcTBDU It is for making a top down shooter but the concept is the same and said it all in a way I could understand.

I am still not sure what kind of setting to put it in, canyon, spaceship, industrial, tie-dye...

As for the invisible roller coaster track, I haven't found anything yet, but maybe if I change it all to Neon Metal and keep the brightness up? If anyone has tried it let me know.

One thing I am trying to figure out: on the story mission The Bravery Test how did they make the bounce pads show up when you hit the button? It is probably alot easier than I am making it out to be and I am just missing the obvious.

I think you can attach wires to the bounce pads to switch them on and off.
