Diamond Dash, the Boulder Dash clone
Archive: 4 posts
After several weeks of hard work, I was able to come up with a Boulder Dash clone, complete with retro graphics. I've invented several methods during the making of this, so I'll contribute by making tutorials about it later on. I hope you enjoy it! The editor is actually playable using a secret input method, let's see if anybody can find it, but I'll make it available publicly in the play-mode if enough plays are received. Cheers! Hi, I've added a video for those that don't want to queue and try it. Those interested in making grid based games should especially check out the editor concept shown at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Jc-r2RVAOys#t=130s I also briefly mention how I fought against the sticker limit while i ntroducing the game editor. | 2011-06-22 10:01:00 Author: hesido Posts: 166 |
This game (cos' it's more than a level) deserves to be picked by MM... For those who haven't played it... This level is a great example of what can be achieved in LBP 2 with a good knowledge of logic... Queue it... I assure you that you won't regret it... | 2011-06-22 11:07:00 Author: terbas Posts: 93 |
Hi guys, as per the really nice feedback for this level, I've added d-pad support and fixed the reability issue at the start of the game, also slightly shortened the pseudo-loading screen. People who care to read this can enjoy the editor mode during play: Hold down the L3 for three seconds at title screen or in game to go to the editor mode. L1-R1 changes active tile R2-changes from pause mode to live mode. It's really fun to lay out diamonds and boulders in live mode! L2-switches to zoomed out camera X to lay out blocks Triangle to delete blocks. When at the beginning, you can go straight up to see the actual level. Since the number of blocks are limited, you can start by deleting the existing level, or modifying it. To go to the play mode, hold down the L3 three seconds. (you can switch back to editor mode) | 2011-07-11 23:09:00 Author: hesido Posts: 166 |
