Kid-friendly (easy) level suggestions
Archive: 13 posts
I have two kids (son that's 6 and daughter that's 4). My son is fine - he can play most all of the levels fine. But I'm looking for easier levels for my daughter. Does anyone have any suggestions for levels that are geared towards small kids and that are (fun, easy, well-made)? I'm probably just going to break down and build her a few myself, but before I did I just thought I'd ask the community - thanks! p.s. princesses, rabbits, and cute girly stuff in general are a bonus | 2011-06-07 17:18:00 Author: jblalock78 Posts: 24 |
Well made is the hard part. Most really, well made levels aren't designed for children. I've remember a few from LBP1, but not the names of the author. Most of the levels in "New" are usually pretty easy. But most seem like they are made by 5 year olds. It would only take about an hour to make a fun children's level yourself. Let me know if you need help. | 2011-06-07 19:04:00 Author: CYMBOL Posts: 1230 |
I'm sure you could find some of the cinematic incredible visual levels that might suit your daughter. I know I've seen one of a nature walk somewhere. | 2011-06-08 05:14:00 Author: SSTAGG1 Posts: 1136 |
Well, most levels are not suited for a 4 year old, i mean, they would have to be just "walking" levels to be easy. Try to find some nice looking and easy to play platformer levels, so your daughter will learn how to control Sackboy jumps. | 2011-06-10 12:13:00 Author: Flame Dragon Posts: 312 |
This brings up an interesting idea I have been having since LBP1: educational levels for kids. BOOOOORING!!! Hold it! Learning can be fun. As a matter of fact, children learn mainly through having fun; just look at what they do at kindergarten. I am talking about counting, the alphabet, reading, recognizing objects, basic logic and solving problems. I am all out of time at the moment and I really should consult folks with children or who are teachers before I do anything, but if this triggers someone else, great! EDIT: Making a kid-friendly (educational?) level could be a really great topic for a LBPC creator contest! | 2011-06-10 16:41:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |

Don't go to easy on her. You'd be surprised by what young children are capable of in video games. I know my level Lazerblast is incredibly easy! Night Of The Rectangly Terror (also made by me) is pretty simple too, as well as teh G4rd3IIs (though, while lower than a teen rating, teh G4rd3IIs isn't exactly four year old friendly). Besides that, everything else I've made is hard enough for most of the adults/teenagers who play them. (or so the community has told me) I wish School was fun too! Lol I thought Algebra was fun... | 2011-06-12 06:36:00 Author: RagTagPwner Posts: 344 |
A few of mine are really easy to play. Not sure if she can make it but if you want to give my Chroma Stone 1 level and my Temple of Cupid levels a try they are super simple to get though. There was another thread for kid friendly levels around here somewhere, let me look it up for you. EDIT: Here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=47212-Good-levels-for-a-2-year-old&p=758721) ya go. There are a few more suggestions in that thread. Just ignore the bickering about age appropriateness for kids playing games. | 2011-06-12 06:39:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
Try Roller Inc (http://lbp.me/v/s-7pqx), it's very kid-friendly. Ok don't do that, even I can barely complete that level, and there's infinite lives! Here's some easy(ish?) levels, many of them are mini-games, but it's the fun that counts! (http://lbp.me/v/pnr74k) The Jumping Castle (http://lbp.me/v/pnr74k) http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/8116df7249e9b596d83479feb83115f69af1eff2.jpg ------------- Mini-Game: Tiltform! Beta (http://lbp.me/v/yvt2kc) No image available for this level. ------------- Poultry Panic (http://lbp.me/v/xnnn23) http://if.lbp.me/img/ft/aef3e559363b1ee99782a9a612a7529db8214420.jpg ------------- Nature's Dream [1P][Mini-Game] (http://lbp.me/v/wzp0zn) http://ia.lbp.me/img/ft/44a022e24bbc90ca2ed8612ac24699e34de0a5e8.jpg ------------- illumina garden 3 (http://lbp.me/v/qwc8xe) (This level may only be available in LBP1, not sure.) No good image available for this level. ------------- Fly me to the moon... You could try cupcake0335's levels. Very cutesy, girly kinda stuff but well made and fun to play. Whatever you do though, don't ever let your kids play my levels unless you want to mentally scar them for life. | 2011-06-12 08:43:00 Author: Ungreth Posts: 2130 |
A lot of my levels are pretty easy, check out the Fair, my christmas levels, and my Munchy Bunny Bounce. | 2011-06-12 18:30:00 Author: Pookachoo Posts: 838 |
Thanks for all of the suggestions! I'll be Queing them up. When I say easy, I don't meant just walking levels. For instance, her favorite levels are the ones in the Factory (story mode) where you free the sackbots and they follow you around and all. But it's just that in general if there are difficult jumps, or lots of hazards then they aren't as appealing because she will get frustrated. Her favorite user-made level (and probably favorite out of all) is by far one called ABCs R 4 Kids or something like that. It's back from LBP1. She really enjoys that one. I've since began making one for her - maybe I'll post it up when I get done. Thanks again! Also thanks Morgana for the thread link - and sidenote my son loved the Sackrificed level | 2011-06-16 16:54:00 Author: jblalock78 Posts: 24 |
Cool! Glad he enjoyed it Please do make a thread for your level when it's all ready to play. I imagine there are a lot of parents out there who'd love to have more levels for their younger children to play. | 2011-06-16 17:00:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
