Timber Run (Timber Canyon III) Spotlight!
Archive: 25 posts
Timber Run (Timber Canyon III)VelcroJonze After twenty levels, Sackboy concludes his run. Also known as Timber Canyon III This marks my twentieth level on my VJ account for psp. I wanted to make Timber Canyon III a huge, epic gameplay monster to wrap up the trilogy, but this ended up becoming more than what I had anticipated. I have been working on Tera Cota II, Hedge Hopper, and Timber Canyon III simultaneously, since I finished Mar Y Tierra, but I knew I wanted to publish this last. After getting feedback on my last two levels, and overhearing things in other threads, I decided to turn Timber Canyon III into Timber Run. In the spirit of Lil Racer, but racing gates are optional, something I should have done in the latter instead of publishing the scenic route, but any way!! I am happy my levels have done well over the last year, and creating in lbp is probably one of the most rewarding things I have done creatively. Will I still make levels? Well, I sure intend on it. I have my other psn I can still create on, plus Random and I are are working on something together right now, and he will publish it on his account so look out for that. So, I hope you like my new level, and let me know what you think!! Pictures by Valmassoi.....thanks brother! http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff393/valmassoilbpc/Timber%20Run/IMG_4217.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff393/valmassoilbpc/Timber%20Run/IMG_4219.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff393/valmassoilbpc/Timber%20Run/IMG_4220.jpg | 2011-06-06 22:33:00 Author: VelcroJonze Posts: 1305 |

I seriously wish I had you're dedication and consistency, VJ. That's why I think you are the perennial LBP role model, espeically for newcomers. Plain and simple, you're friggin awesome dude! | 2011-06-07 01:08:00 Author: Silver39 Posts: 1703 |
Great choice for a final level VJ. Timber Canyon II was your most played level, and is definitely my favorite. It's very awesome of you to bring back the Timber Canyon series for your big finale. I played it through and I have to say this was the most fun level I've ever played! Seriously! The platforming sequences are just pure fun, and the challenge of bubble combos with a race made it all the better! The visuals are superb, I think you're the only one who can make plain wood look good. :star::star::star::star::star: <3 Thanks so much for this "last" level of yours! | 2011-06-07 01:21:00 Author: anoken Posts: 1654 |

Awesome level VJ! :star::star::star::star::star: and a <3 Maybe it was just me becoming more used to the PS3 version of Sackboy, but I found this one a lot more difficult! It saddens me that you're done on this account but hopefully you'll continue creating on another. | 2011-06-11 23:20:00 Author: WoodburyRaider Posts: 1651 |

Curses! Now and Then a level shows up that makes me want to create on PSP again! I got that Bubbly Garden-er's feeling when he Lifted the Red Rampage-ing gnome from the pool. He saw the Color of Music in the gnomes eyes. Here and There more gnomes popped up and so did the media. Soon people quoted how Zen-like it was, and the man's Destiny was clear. He was an artist. Wow. How did I get off topic so fast? O_o Anywho, I thought this was an excellent level! I'm lovin' it! Seriously!!! It's EPIC! Your levels are getting better each time! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and a <3 of course! | 2011-06-13 08:34:00 Author: ConverseFox Posts: 2333 |

Thanks for all the hard work that you put into making these levels man! Inspired me with all 20 of 'em! | 2011-06-14 02:56:00 Author: eagerneph Posts: 1536 |
Sigh... If only I could play this now. Oh well, It'll just have to wait. 20 levels... That's a huge accomplishment! Any-who, this looks great, so I can't wait to tell you how great it really is! | 2011-06-14 16:27:00 Author: Fading-Dream Posts: 164 |
Wow, that was excellent. I really enjoyed this! The whole thing was insanely addictive. Not sure what else to say except, umm.... I'M NOT WORTHY!!!!!! | 2011-06-15 00:26:00 Author: Fading-Dream Posts: 164 |
Sorry for the excessively late feedback... ^^; Gameplay: I felt the gameplay was perfect for a platformer. It's fast-paced and exciting and the difficulty was just right. I like how varied the obstacles were and how each of them was placed (for instance, avoiding the spikes was more challenging than it looked; I ran into a couple a lot of times XD). Everything flows so smoothly. Also, the optional race was a great idea. I think it adds replayability to your level. Setting: As always, the scenery is beautifully designed. You corner-edited everything really well and chose stickers that further enhanced the level's appearance. All the obstacles and switches fit well in the canyon landscape. The breaking bridge in the beginning, secret point bubble area (I only found one, though, were there any more?), scale-shaped platforms, and swinging platforms (I liked those especially; it's the first time I've seen those, I think) were all really cool. Mechanics: The fast bouncy things, and point bubble dispensers were great, as usual. As mentioned earlier, the optional race, and interesting platforms really add to the level. Summary: Timber Run is exciting, pretty, and plays really well. All in all, it's a very fun level that can be enjoyed more than once. =) :star::star::star::star::star: and <3 | 2011-06-21 16:07:00 Author: Phalaina Posts: 181 |
