365 Long Term Publisher Pin

Archive: 23 posts

When exactly does the Long Term Publisher Pin start counting up the days? I mean i've got a level that was published first over 7 months ago, but the pin is only up to about 130 days or so. Did it not start counting the days until you first started playing LBP2?2011-06-05 20:03:00

No I think its the day you published if you linked the accounts.2011-06-05 20:05:00

Then it must just be another pin glitch or something. I mean my level has been published for over 7 months so the pin should be at about 210 days instead of only 130.

Also if I republish my oldest level does that reset the counter or does it just have to stay published and republishing doesn't affect it?

It resets plays but im unsure if it resets the timer for the time published.2011-06-05 20:31:00

Ok. I've been thinking about republishing my LBP1 level on LBP1 again to see if it counts the days because I don't think I have republished them since I started LBP2.

I'm pretty sure republishing does reset. Because you're essentialy, just publishing one level on top of another.2011-06-05 20:43:00

So i've got to publish a level and leave it sit for 365 days without changing it one bit to get the pin?

Exactly

Well looks like my level won't be getting many plays then. I mean if I just have to leave it set and never change it people will only play my level if I advertise it here or if people randomly search and find my level on LBP1 or LBP2.

Note that you could just post a near empty level or something and let that sit there without updating it. Maybe even have it locked? Unsure if locked levels count, but either way it means you don't have to leave one of your proper levels untouched for over a year. Perhaps you could outright say why it's there in the description so people won't mistake you for being a bad creator if it's the first level of yours they play.2011-06-06 04:08:00

Or just make it a sub-level. That's what I'm using and I'm pretty sure it works.

I'm kind of considering doing that, but I don't want to publish a new level if it's going to set my badge count back down to one day. Until I find out if republishing the level resets the counter i'm going to leave it set there for a while.

Republishing does reset the count. However each badge count is individual for each level - if you publish a new level it won't reset the count of the other level you have up in the hundreds.

Also, Cory makes a good suggestion having your level a sub level. Unsure if these count, but if they do it's a better way to go than locking - at least no one will know it's there.

I have been publishing new levels, but since i've already got the count up to about 130 days i'm just going to let my level stay there so I don't have to reset the count to day 1.

If it's called the 365 Long Term Publisher Pin, wouldn't it take 365 days? Also, it's only been 157 days or less since LBP2 came out, so I would think that even the 175 Long Term Publisher Pin would be impossible to get.2011-06-07 03:18:00

Well I thought it was going to count from the first day you pulished a level, but it turns out it counts from the last time you published the level. So to count up the days you have to leave a level set because republishing it resets the counter. So basically you have to make a level and leave it alone for 1 year to get the biggest pin.

Well if you want to get plays without reseting it, do some f4f up in this mutha. Simples. I got my pin immediately tho becuz of my levels I published back in '08...2011-06-07 13:26:00

I think this is dumb. What about moving a level around on your earth? That resets the counter? I mean, it should be from the first time you publish any level. As long as that spot is still on your earth, who cares if you wrote over it... even with a different level? You still have something published for 365...2011-06-07 13:29:00

Just treat it not as "my level has been published a year" treat is as "I haven't touched this level in a year"2011-06-07 13:35:00

So true. I mean they should have made the pin count from when you first published the level rather then the last time you published the level. That makes us have to leave a level set for 1 year just to get the pin.

Is it possible that the PSN downtime disrupted this slightly - e.g. put the count on hold?2011-06-10 12:05:00

I got that pin when I started up LBP2. So, LBP1 levels must count.

Yeah, I'm never going to get that pin. I compulsively update my levels within 6 months of publishing. Whether it be a small tweak, or a complete change in game play.2011-06-11 05:14:00
