While PSN was down and I couldn't finish the level of my other project I started working on logic for a level about "The Darkness" because that's my favourite FPS. I had the idea after I played a friends level about Marvel characters. For all those who don't know "The Darkness" it's a game about an american comic about a guy called Jackie Estacado who is a member of the Mafia and at his 21st birhtday an old, evil creature called the darkness awakens within him giving him special powers and trying to take over his body. I'm trying to give the player the same powers as in the game and the comics like the creeping dark, the spike and the snake head to attack enemies, the black hole, the armor and darklings. http://img845.imageshack.us/img845/8379/tdjackie.jpg This is how Jackie looks like. Couldn't find any trenchcoat with a shirt so I used the one from Heavy Rain and colored the tie white. Maybe I'll add some shadows to the face to make him look less friendly. http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4573/tdreddarkness.jpg This is how the darkness looks like. Depending on which direction you press on the d-pad the eyes and lights on it change colore which indecates what power you're using. It flipps when you turn around so it always stays behind you. http://img861.imageshack.us/img861/4691/tdsnake.jpg This is the snake you can use by using the left analog stick. It can bite to hurt enemies and to devour hearts to make you stronger and get you new abilities (if mm does not delete it). http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/8206/tdspikewithenemy.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/9140/tdspike.jpg By using the right analog stick you can use the spike to spear enemies and objects so you can use them as a shield or as a weapon, to build yourself a path or whatever comes to your mind. http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/1502/tdblackholeaiming.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/8199/tdblackhole.jpg This is the black hole ability. You can defeat many enemies at once and destroy the envirement but it empties your darkness power so you can't use it all the time. Of course you won't get this ability at the start though. You will have to get it by devouring hearts. http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/432/tdarmor.jpg The third ability is the armor from the comics. It works for a short time and you get half of the damage and you do double damage as long as it's activated. You can't use any darkness powers while you're using it though. Another power you have to earn. The last one will be creeping dark. That's a power where you can sneak around using one of the snakes for stealth killing people. I didn't work on it so far though. There will be Darklings aswell. Little, evil helpers of the darkness you can summon to attack enemies. Maybe they will also detroy lamps and stuff (the darkness loses it's power in the light) but I don't know if that is possible so I have to try.

Well that looks awesome. I never played the first game, but I saw the trailer for the second one which is coming out and it looked pretty sweet. I'm curious how you got the snake heads to extend out and grab/bite stuff. Hard to tell from just the pics.

Thank you guys. @anthman852 In case you want to play the second game better play the first one aswell because the story is important in the darkness. Can't say too much about the controls yet but maybe I'll publish a demo soon.
