I played this level last night, and it is seriously awesome.

VISUALS:
The enemies looked whimsical, and the 2D flat camera angle made this level feel more like retro-platforming. The level has great use of Avalonia background and polishing.

SOUND:
Epic custom music.

GAMEPLAY:
The platforming is definitely retro. Also, what an awesome idea to shoot lasers against the enemies. I couldn't get through the finish line, but it is worth trying it ten times. Who could forget the "pew pew pew" part in the game over section?

OVERALL:
A really fun platformer. A yay, a heart, and a positive review.

F4F either Cybernetic Adventures Gamma or Delta.

Hey, another level from Foofles. I'll que it right away, could you check out my newest level? "Fortnight of Fright"? It is in the level showcase ATM but i requested a move , so just go ahead and post your feedback there if you want. Or even leave a review on the level itself, that would probally be better.
Thanks.

*EDIT*
Ok i played it and left a review on your level, you have so many reviews now that it doesn't really make a difference. But i'll tell you again here anyway. I said:

"Well this level met my expectations. Its fun, the music is great and the gameplay is original as ever. It keeps people replaying over and over again. Any hints on what the special prize is? LOL. Good job Foofles."

I liked how you portrayed an atmosphere of an old-school-ish 2D platforming game with the retro sound effects, control scheme, and the flatness! The amount of detail gone into the environment is great, especially the electricity flowing around the beam, and the difficulty was appropriately enforced with the limited ammo and the sudden events that required working reflexes to dodge. I also liked how you enhanced the replay value by giving an incentive to players if they finished with perfect health! I haven't tried going for that yet, but I did enjoy watching the Game Over screen every time I failed. This little game is quite a quirky one that doesn't all seem to make sense, but it doesn't have to make sense if it's fun to play, right?

You don't have to do this immediately, but when you have the time could you play through any one of my levels in my signature? Any one of them is fine, or you can play through all of them if you wish! :o The choice is yours. ^^

Thanks so much for the feedback everyone

Ok, I think I put it off long enough. Republished Flame-Broiled Fury with an Easy Mode http://t.co/UKP4IMR . In easy mode you can restore health with hearts, try it out if the harder version was too difficult You earn less points and automatically forfeit all perfect health bonuses in easy mode as well.

Also you can now use either stick to aim, with right stick taking priority if it's used. I'm not a fan of the right stick in this level, personally, but it was easy enough to add.

Hi there Foofles i've played a few of your levels there great.

Awsome level. The music was great as was the entire layout. Ther is nothing about this level i didn't love.
I really like the old school retro feel you have given this level i especially liked the badies and the health system.

I played on easy multiple times then on hard and i've gotta say hard is hard. You have managed to bring back the quirkiness of old school retro gaming to life in a new form and thats something i have waited to see perfected on LBP for a long time.

I would really like to know how you got it looking so flat like an old 2d game?

I am attempting a level simular to this myself and would really appreciate it if you could give me some help with the music as this is exactly what i need for my game which will be called Super Neon Adventure Man. I have made the character if you are interrested in giving it a test run to see if it is worthy.

Great level please inform me if you make more as this was the most fun i've had on LBP for days.

Hey Foofles, Just wanted to drop by and say that your new level is good old fashioned fun with some throw your controller difficulty that really took me back down memory lane. I'm wondering if we're around the same age because you have nailed the design of most platforming games during the 8-bit generation. I'm so glad that this has been spotlighted because the entire project from visuals, sound (music), gameplay, and humor (pew, pew, pew) were just awesome. If you could please check out my new levels Act 2-1: Groves of Gadaron and Act 2-3: Pyre Crisis and leave me some feedback that would be great. Thanks and once again awesome job.2011-06-18 00:36:00
