Censorship is the suppression of speech or other public communication which may be considered objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient to the general body of people as determined by a government, media outlet, or other controlling body. During the short time I've been posting on this site I've had a lot of insults thrown my way by the celebs of LBPC. Yet, I have never stopped anybody from saying what they wanted to say. I did not respond to every insult but neglecting them does not influence anyones freedom of speech or take away any other rights they have. Morgana and Compermc however fit the description of censorship, given above, which I took from wikipedia, by locking threads they consider objectionable, harmful, sensitive, or inconvenient. To remind you of this I?ll quote the reason Comphermc gave for locking the threads I joined to give my opinion about the repressing influence from LBPC on the people who bought the game and do not wish to advertise their levels outside of the game: ?Contrary to what you seem to believe, your previous threads (what are we on now, number 3?) have been locked for the same reason I'm locking this one: your attitude is one of rudeness, belligerence, and willful ignorance of the many people who have tried to explain to you what is going on.? If comphermc thinks a thread needs to be closed when someone displays an attitude of rudeness then doesn?t he have a double standard by not closing thread number 1 right after he said to me the following?: ?Now that I'm no longer staff, I have no problems saying that you are downright insufferable. Wow, you are dumb? Therefore I think that it is clear that Comphermc silences people of whom he thinks that what they say is inconvenient to him or LBPC and therefore makes it impossible to discuss topics on this forum that are inconvenient to LBPC. This might be no news to anyone but I wanted to point out clearly how people are treated in here. Therefore, as I said in thread one: I would have liked to contribute my thoughts on possible solutions for the problem that was discussed there, after the simple bashing by LBPC celebs had cooled down. By locking the thread you made it impossible for me however to answer your following question: Comphermc: ?I don't understand, but clearly if there is a problem that exists, you must want a solution. Give me one. Give me any solution. If you just want to complain, that's fine, but the ends justify the means, and I really can't envision your ends.? You may think I can discuss it in another thread but like stated above. During censorship there is no room for an honest debate and I can?t foresee when I?m being silenced by a lock from Morgana or you right after you squeezed in your last opinion to pretend that would be the final conclusion. @ people complaing about the number of threads: I?m not closing them

Censorship implies power. I have none. The problem you have with me is that I disagree with what you say, and thus seem to be personally attacking you. If you're looking for a fight, why are you shocked to find one? Despite what you believe, this isn't about you. The original poster of that thread indicated that he was no longer listening to others, so it was no longer a discussion. Simple. LBPC isn't government, it's not a governing body. It's a privately owned website, and it reserves every right to allow or deny posting of certain members (http://1forall.us/about/the-first-amendment/#a4). You are not granted access by some virtue of existence. If you have a problem with how things are run, go elsewhere. Stop trying to censor my ability to call you stupid for clearly demonstrating a lack of intelligence. It tastes a lot like hypocrisy. @ people complaing about the number of threads: I’m not closing them Cool story, bro. I hope that works out for you. You are here as a privilege, not a right. Edit: Since you are slow, I'll put it into an example that should be simple enough to understand... If I wanted to come here and posts all sorts of pornographic content, bypass the language filter, and personally attack other members, would it be censorship to delete the content and ban me as a user? Yep, from a simplified view of things, it sure is. Is it justified? You bet. Whether or not censorship is bad is all a matter of perspective. Since LBPC is a privately owned website, they reserve the right to make these judgment calls. Not you.

Do you have a goal with your argument? Before it was somewhat reasonable with Creekey's initial underlying suggestion of new creators not getting enough recognition. However, this was even flawed, and when others pointed this out, he want on a rant that you're now leeching off of. You're saying the "celebs" have thrown insults your way, well if they did, they did so after calmly suggesting you tone it down. Believe it or not, people have lives on this site including the mods. Knowing the suggestive things you've been posting recently, I assume they're stuck at home forced to monitor your posts to ensure you or anyone else doesn't go off again. It's not censorship, it's the real world. Even if you can't see it, your argument might be completely flawed, so give it up.

There's nothing wrong with opinions, but when your opinion is that LBPC is a dictature and you preach it as the truth in the middle of the forums, well, you must expect an argument in your way, or something worse... Threads don't get closed because of censorship. They get closed when they break the rules of this forum; for example, a thread talking about piracy, hacking or that turned into a flame war. The latter is what the thread turned out to be when you two started with the "LBPC is dictature" thing. We love this place, and when someone starts to say bad things about it and its people, expect defensive actions (locks and silences).

I think you've made your point already, now give it a rest. I don't think you realize how forgiving the mods here have been to you... many forums would simply delete your threads and ban you for spamming.

The mods are here to do their job. I.e. Keeping this forum tidy, clean and friendly. They have a job, and they do it. Locking threads that they deem inappropriate, spammy etc, is part of that job. If you have a problem with a thread of yours being locked, PM the Mod that locked it, and politely ask why it was locked if you don't fully understand why they did so. Do not get angry and send them messages like, "OMFG, Y DA H*ELL DID U LOCK MY THRED?!11!!!!!!11111!!!111". It will make them annoyed at you, make them less likely to unlock your thread, and put you in their bad books. I advise you to behave more cautiously when posting threads on a well-moderated forum such as this, always do a search, to make sure your thread isn't a duplicate of another, think about whether the thread could be considered spam, post it in the correct section of the forum [although 99.999% of the time the mods will simply move the thread to the appropriate section] and finally, be articulate and clear with your point to avoid people calling you stupid... I hope this post helped you in creating future threads here on LBPC, and don't hesitate to PM a mod [or even myself if you'd like!] if you are confused about anything at all.

Seriously, do you have nothing better to do than to repeat yourself over and over again? I'm sure that I speak for everyone here when I say: We are no longer interested (and that's generous - because it implies that at some stage we were interested). Think of it this way. I march into a shop, and start shouting and complaining how rubbish the shop is, and overall making a big fuss. The shop keepers can ask me to leave (and even have me forcibly removed) - and that's not because of what I'm saying - it's about my attitude towards the shop, and the way I'm saying it. If you want people to listen - be nice. Talk politely, and sometimes, you'll need to take no for an answer.

If everybody just wrote EXACTLY what they though where would the world be, and it isnt just that you write exacly what you think its also how you write it, those added bits. This is a great online fight A unified nation of people vs. one insurgent lunatic throwing firecrackers in a futile attempt to start a revolution doesn't really make for box office material to be honest. I think the community has expressed it's collective feelings and made it quite clear that CackStrength is no longer welcome here, so perhaps it's time the mods close this thread, ban the guy already and move everyone along because there's nothing to see here.

If another thread is posted without detailed, well-reasoned examples that support the complaints you're making, we will shut down this topic altogether and ban any further discussion (in other words, we'll actually censor it - sorta poetic, when you think about it). It's simple: stop posting until you have something to post. I think that's more than fair at this point. ---------- Also, to those of you who posted in rebuttal: rudeness goes both ways. I saw a lot of well-reasoned responses, but I also saw some pointless name-calling and other immature responses. I appreciate your loyalty to what we do here, but don't fight immaturity with immaturity. It accomplishes nothing, and often actually fans the flames.
