F4F Receipts

Archive: 8 posts

I came up with an interesting idea to improve the F4F system. Since it is pretty much based on the honor system and the classiness of LBPCentral as a whole, I think that introducing Feedback for Feedback Receipts would be helpful to serve as a reminder of who you owe feedback to. I realize this would be tricky to make, but here are some ways it could work:

-In the "Post Editing" area, next to the Bold, Italicize, and Underline options, there could be a F4F icon in the shape of a receipt or the like. Clicking this would automatically create a URL link that would have the current feedbacker's username on it.

-The person receiving the feedback in their Level and Object Showcase thread would have to recognize the feedback as sufficient by clicking another button next to the "Thanks" button at the bottom of the post. It could also work just like the "Thanks" button by changing into a "Take Back Receipt" button after clicking it, much like the "Thanks" button turns into a "Remove your Thanks" button.

-I realize this system would still be based on the honor system and would not ensure F4F works, but it would be more to serve as a friendly reminder of who you owe feedback to. The feedback receipts could be shown on a page in your Profile on the site and come in the form of a grocery list of all the players you owe feedback to.

This is just an idea, but I think it could work pretty well and help new creators worried about not getting enough plays quite a bit. I know most people probably leave feedback all at once or on one level at a time, but for new creators, this would serve as a way to get a quality amount of feedback on your level and improve.

So basically a reminder that you still have to F4F that level. Good Idea.2011-06-04 15:33:00

Pretty much.

The idea of publishing a level for new creators can be overwhelming. With my first big project coming out this summer for PS3, I think this system would really help levels get recognized on both the game and this site. It would be another way to progress quickly and earn plays, as long as you're willing to put in the effort to give quality feedback. In the game, people would notice a fair amount of plays. On the site, people would notice a reasonable amount of replies.

I feel like this thread is about to get buried completely. I think that this could really improve how we give feedback and help us meet other people around the site. (It would also make the transition for PSPers without any levels out easier, allowing them to leave feedback knowing that a reminder will always be there for the person who owes the feedback). It would also increase the likelihood of creators working hard using this to their advantage to earn more plays and get noticed.2011-06-08 15:36:00

Yes, I agree it would be a good addition but how would it work? There would have to be a transaction between both creators, im interested as to how this will work.2011-06-08 16:46:00

Yeah I had brought up a couple of suggestions on how it could work in the OP with a "Thanks"-esque button called "F4F Receipt" that the Thread-owner receiving the feedback could click saying, "Yes, this was quality feedback and I want to add this user to my list of I-OWE-U Feedback." To increase the likelihood of people actually following this, the list of I-OWE-U's could be displayed at the top of someone's profile page with the users they owe feedback to. Another improvement to this system would be to have three choices for the Thread-owner to choose from when clicking the "F4F Receipt" button:

Green = Quality Feedback
Yellow = Average Feedback
Red = A Play and Sentence of Feedback

I understand that some people wouldn't follow this system, but I think most would especially if it's displayed on their profile page. Some people might ignore it all together, but I think it would benefit the site more than anything.

Thanks nys. Hopefully something will come out of this idea eventually.
