So, there is a new glitch that from what I'm told allows you to emit anything in any level, in play mode. Score bubbles, prizes, controlinators to move through the level etc. There's also apparently another glitch that makes Sackboy immune to hazards and can jump six times as high. Already some people have used one or both of these exploits on Clockworx 2 to get a 4 player score of over 4,000,000 (compared to 6,500, the previous high score). In a lot of levels this wouldn't matter too much, but in a survival challenge or any level where high scores are important, the leaderboard is basically ruined. It also allows easy acing and easy collection of prizes. Fortunately only the 4 player leaderboard for my level has been affected. I've locked it to prevent any of the other leaderboards from being ruined. Anyone else who has a popular level where high scores are important, I advise you to consider doing the same, at least until this gets fixed. And if anyone knows how to do this glitch - let Mm know so they can fix it.

Looking at a certain person who is getting 4,000,000 point scores on all these levels, apparently he and another *disliked community member* are partners in "haxing." I hope Mm can fix the scoreboards... I found them fun sometimes, and now they're being ruined by an attention hog. Don't get why people feel the need to do stuff like that.

Okay, I've just been with Hazbell and seen this in action. He calls this the "Overlord Glitch", and it seems rather similar to the god glitch. The important thing is, Mm are definately aware of it (just look at Spaff's recent activty). Hazbell (no pretending it's not him, it's quite obvious) has apologised for getting these 4 mil scores and says he'll stop doing it. Apparently the only other person who knows how to do it is Stephanie Ravens. So, I still wouldn't sleep too safely knowing your levels are safe.

Basis of searching for glitches: Try to do something that suppose to be impossible and try to do it in way that you think it should work or think out of the box, if one way is impossible then then other way even if this looks odd. It's also good for searching undocumented features in LBP2, like analog signal processing for example. If you don't know what you looking for, experiment with everything, try to break things, try doing things with stuff that not suppose to be used that way. Some glitches appears randomly during the process ;] But yeah it requires specific pattern of thinking to be good at it and best would be if you have knowlage how game works (reverse enginniring), so you know what to expect from the game. Ofcorse safty first, if you do glitch exploring then backup your profile on evry step, you neven sure if glitch you met will be dangeres for your profile

However, comparing glitches used be me and other community members to this persons actions are not equivalent. 99.9% of the community use/look for glitches to enhance their creations. A few people, use glitches or loopholes to cheat, or get cheap plays, spam cool pages, gift glitched items they know are potentially game breaking, all in pursuit of plays and hearts. I guess it speaks a lot about a persons character when they get a little bit of power: if I had found this glitch, my first thought would be to check out MM creations behind the scenes, their first thought was how to use it to cheat. Really, there is only one thing that bothers me about this glitch and I think you're missing the point why these actions are devastating to the community. Now, MM resources have to work on this project/patch, instead of working on things that help the community overall. That's the issue.

Ofcorse safty first, if you do glitch exploring then backup your profile on evry step, you neven sure if glitch you met will be dangeres for your profile This seems awfully similar to a glitch I had that I told them how to do/was patched in 1.01 basically you would hook up a sackboy sensor and a destroyer (tweaked to fall apart) to the starting spawn thingy when sackboy spawned halfway through it would make him fall apart, and from then on he was considered to be a object (and was able to stick to sticky stuff which is how I used to be able to emmit stuff into levels)

This thread alone proves you wrong, it was made exacly because people care about highscore. Being on top of high score on level that have lot of plays or specialy story levels is a huge achivment, even bigger then getting crown or getting mmpick, because it actually approve your playing skill and there a lot of crazy people doing large scores in legal way. In other words high-score makes people replay your level all the time to get better score, which increases the value of your level and means you design addictive gameplay, lot of levels are exacly played just for the score. If you level got bug allowing to get hell lot of points in way as it not suppose to be, it's practicly death of your level, because people wont want to play level where getting high score is impossible. So yeah this is a huge thing that lot of people care about, because hi-score is one of things thta makes LBP a LBP

It's a cheat and a glitch that could have devastating effects on your pod and practically disable any level that use score as point threshold for items, checkpoints, etc. MM made their game just fine. Nothing happens without a code, glitch is not something that pops out without a reason, it's not generated by the hardware bugs, maybe communies overuse calling glitch on everything unnatural in the game is missliding, but "glitch" it's nothing more then a bug in code that was been written one and only MM only. Reason why LBP is have so many glitches is because MMs policy to make things simple as possible (if i hear right in there interviews), they not thinking about securing every possible step that player can do, because it's potentially can over complex the code, in other words MM takes simplicity over security (ofcorse this is only my guess). Ether way, bugs (or glitches if you like) does not come out of nowhere they got there reason why they works in game code that MM wrote, so it's not llike MM don't have there fault in glitches of the game. Prime example is beta co-create block fail or beta transfer to retail (which is joke of security if you see how it works), those holes is like they didn't even care to lock (well maybe co-create thing is debatable), because they so obvious Ofcorse this have benifits, game works faster by lightr code, because we can cross bonderies on stuff that MM unprediced what we gonna do (or didnt even care by there simplicity policies) which increse creativity value of the game, but on other hand it might be destructive to the game due holes in security and most portently may lock up MM in to backward compatibility issues in future titles (because people use those bugs and in order to BC to work those bugs need to stay or be simulated). Imo MM coding policies, whatever they are, is double edged sword

I consider a bug to be a behavior in the code that prevents an existing tool to function as intended. Conversely, a glitch is a behaior in the code that allows the existing tool to function in a way which it was not intended. This behavior falls into the latter category, and allows the player to do harmful things (i.e. delete their pod) or cheat (i.e. rack up scores of a million on a level where it is otherwise impossible to do so.) Neither are really MM's fault, as bugs exist in every game and glitches will be exposed and used if they serve a useful purpose. You can only catch as many bugs and glitches as you have staff to test them. Some will be patched, new ones will arise, and some will be allowed to persist (i.e. the '3D' layers.) MM should only be blamed if they knowingly released the game with these behaviors apparent to the developers and testers. I would bet my wallet this hasn't happened and that MM is working to fix this in an upcoming patch.

Orceose bugs are natural but thats not mean MM could better job, as coder you should predict what user will try to do even if use is not intetional, that a basis of securing the code I don't blaim them much, since i understand that they got other priorities then security, since LBP is not some kind of browser that need ot be secured in every way (thru if they didn't want beta content in retail they should double check things and secure, since that hole is easy to discover for anyone who really want to try to transfer) and i know it will be fixed, duh?

HES NOT USING IT MALICIOUSLY ANYMORE GUYS GAWD! Actually hes using it to expose scam levels saying stuff like "Oh if I get an absurd amount of hearts I will unlock these fake objects and give them away" also if he uses it to cheat score (which wasn't its purpose anyway and he really only did it to a few levels if you pay attention) he gets perma-banned. Regardless of anyones opinion of Hazbell he is pretty pro at breaking the game in general and this shows that.. I do not condone his rude behavior though :/ Also it seems that Mm has been preoccupied with LBP on the Vita and that is most likely the cause of their lack of patches and level pack DLC and anything else pertaining to LBP2, not one glitched object.

Lolz, I love how some defend and some attack. Its funny to see that the attackers are losing. To me, I see people who discover this things to be heros and destoryers. They let MM know about this but if it gets released into the community, then everyone trys it. This glitch hasnt spread through the community so I think Hazbell is like a hero, no one else can spread this around... (Haters will hate anything that doesnt go their way)

I don't know about anyone else, but I honestly don't see how Hazbell could be considered a hero for using this glitch to ruin the high score boards on popular levels (including EVERY level in OEB, Joey, Jayhawk_er and my MTG contest entry, which had a few areas designed for the high-score hunters out there) and then gloat about it in the comments sections by saying stuff like, "Level destroyed by H.B." Those comments have disappeared, along with a whole bunch of other things not appearing properly on his profile for some reason, but that doesn't change the fact that he did it. Just because he's helping Mm to fix it doesn't change anything. He could've just TOLD them about it instead of going for attention...

It would be simple to just disregard the high score since it was achieved by cheating. No one else could possibly get that score on most levels so it's fairly obvious that it was achieved via haxing. You guys must remember that Hazbell is a kid... one too intelligent for his own good, i would say. But he still did though. Not doing it now doesn't make it all OK. You cant resurrect someone who was murdered but you can republish a level with a whole new score... if you wan't to sacrifice all plays, hearts etc and if it mattered THAT much to the creators, then they may.. but it may also remove the Mm pick so idk.. that would suck. Regardless! It is over and done with, are you still going to complain about something that happened and is not still happening? ...and like I said before.. i'm willing to bet the Vita LBP has taken most of their time and resources which personally makes me a little upset even though Vita LBP looks pretty cool. :/

Also it seems that Mm has been preoccupied with LBP on the Vita This doesn't make sense. Yes, Media Molecule is one big team working on the game, but there are smaller teams within them. The people who were hired to fix bugs in the console version of the game aren't going to be involved in the Vita version. I think sometimes people forget this, and just assume that the names that come up a lot (Alex Evans, Spaff, Tom) are just a few guys sitting around at Mm baking cupcakes and making a game. Not to mention the fact that the Vita version of LBP isn't even being made by Media Molecule.

Oh my egg sand... StephineRavens is still around? When I quit LBP1 she was always on the cool pages stealing peoples levels. And I always thought "Hey, MM must do something about this. Guess not. Can you even get banned from LBP? If not, I vote we have our first ever.

Unless the authors of the levels made them copyable, in which case, that was an outcome they should have wanted, or foreseen. I'm not condoning what she did, I'm just curious as to how she did it.

You would think this glitch was the Black Plague the way some people have been talking about it. Honestly I've been using it to quickly get materials for my lvls. My PS3 died a few weeks ago and I didn't back up my stuff. Basically I lost EVERYTHING except for my important lvls (which I keep backed up on my Earth), and I refused to go through the trouble of collecting all that stuff again. Also, I have fun building cool new stuff for the Overlord glitch. I recently made a Nuclear Bomb with a moving mushroom cloud. I'm planning on using it in the final cutscene of my next lvl. I couldn't care less about high scores and leaderboards. I have never abused this glitch in that way. I've only used it to have fun and to mess around. I don't use the Overlord ships everyone else has, I made my own and I think it's awesome. You guys can hate all you want.
