The Witcher 2... 360 only :-/

Archive: 3 posts

So The Witcher 2 has been announced for consoles. It was obviously coming but I'm surprised and a bit disappointed that it's 360 only. I mean it kind of makes sense in that it's their first console venture but still. What you guys think?

It'll be interesting to see how the port to 360 changes the game. Supposedly playing on the PC with a 360 control works well so maybe they won't have to change that much. I'm not a fan of micro-management with a controller though...

Link? I've read this on IGN and they haven't said anything about it being exclusive to PC and 360 :/ They just confirmed it for 3602011-06-03 00:05:00

Hmmm... may have jumped the gun a little. I read it somewhere but can't remember where. Now everything says confirmed but doesn't mention exclusivity. Kinda strange actually that the stories don't even mention the PS3 at all, no comments on PS3 status being unknown. A bit unusual.

Anyway it was announced on the little show they had on ustream a few hours ago and they only mentioned the 360. So who knows...

EDIT: Actually scrap that, I found it:

"The biggest lesson we learned from actually canning the whole project," says Gop, "was if we wanted to do it, we'd have to do it in house," and Witcher 2 is being done with an in-house team as an "adaptation," not a port. Does that mean that after the Xbox version is out, that same team will work on bringing the game to PS3? Gop doesn't rule it out. "We would love to," he says, before admitting that decision has yet to be made. But if you're worried about an exclusive for any reason other than a lack of resources, don't, says Gop. "No," he jokes, "Microsoft has not bought us."
