This just shows what I mean... LBPC erased my thread

Archive: 3 posts

So I started a topic yesterday about how newly published levels were brushed under the rug in sake of giving the plays to the famous club of creators who are MM Picks and contastly on the cool pages.

Newly Published levels aren't the only thing swept under the rug because LBPC just deleted my entire thread about it.

Sore subject, LBPC? I guess someone was right about the injustice done towards the unpopular creators.

Mind you, my thread didn't start out with accusations about the unfair system of LBP towards new levels. It just ended up that way after I found out how new levels are literally brushed aside for MM Picks and the cool pages. I was just curious why a new level of mine had no plays except from good friends after a day. I published on early LBP1 (shortly after release) and I had at least 8 plays in the first 12 hours. And that was before I met most of my lbp friends.

LBP2 is ruined for me. They won't do the unpopular (i.e. the creators who don't have a connection to MM) creators justice by giving proper exposure to new levels and they won't fix the constant loading screen, and they won't fix anything else. Heck, they probably don't even think that they are doing anything wrong. As I said before: LBP is a club, its barely a game.

To all the "popular" creators out there, how did you really get your plays? Was it republishing? Advertising on LBPC? Heart for heart? All these tactics to get the plays that are taking away from other decent levels, are distasteful, desperate acts. I have said before that all a level should be judged upon is the content inside. But clearly levels are being judged much differently.

I don't just speak for myself. I have never had the desire to be "lbp famous" or whatever they call it. I just want a few plays. But I speak for all those creators who don't advertise their levels on LBPC, who don't republish, who don't use Heart 4 Heart and have better levels than what is on MM Picks. Those people deserve some recognition. They are the only ones doing it right.

Some people might say that there are no levels out there that are as good as what is on MM Picks. But I know differently. I have seen plenty.

So, LBPC, erase this thread too, and all my other ones that I make. You are just pointing out to people how true all this is. We all know that you and MM like to repress everyone who doesn't have 500 hearts. But you like to keep that a secret.

This is one club I DON'T want to join as long as it's status quo.

...LBPC just deleted my entire thread about it...

The thread was marked moderated pending investigation into a suspected duplicate account used to post offensive content into that thread, which has been banned.

The thread has now been restored, and is here (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=57447-How-do-new-levels-get-noticed).

Locked.

Thanks Adrian.

I'd also like to point out: on LBPCentral, a total of five people have the ability to delete a thread from the forums. The idea that we'd spend what little free time we have maintaining some sort of popularity-based Creation regime is just... :kz: You give us too much credit, my friend. If I had that kind of power and influence, I'd be doing much more than managing a fansite.
