Midnight Blossom

Archive: 10 posts

Had to republish the level due to some bugs.. and while republishing the level I decide to change the name to Midnight Blossom.

You're a bee in this level you have to find as many flowers you can. The bee haves it's own life so be careful with the stuff around. This level requires a lot of observation. Relax and enjoy.

Hope you enjoy the level and if you would like to see more stuffs in the level just tell me and I'll try to add them.
Comments appreciated.

So, I'm writing this on the go...

The level looks wonderful, I just went 'awww' at the queen and bees The lighting strikes me as just perfect for such a kind of level, giving that fairytale-like spirit that at least I am feeling. I especially love the way the bee wobbles. ... Wait, was that a pigeon? Awesome! Ooops... Died. Time to restart! And now I just managed to finish it too! Highscore as well
No problems found though, There was not much that could fail either I think... Disappointed a bit though that the pigeon never turned out to be a boss

One thing though, I did not find any hearts at the start, though that may just have been me, it would be nice to have something introducing it if not there already, then I just missed it on my way.

Thanks for playing my level Moonwire!!

Disappointed a bit though that the pigeon never turned out to be a boss

I thought about doing that.. I might do a second part.

There's a few around the level. Might have to add more at the beginning.
Thanks!!

Nice changes, the new name is easier to remember, though I found the old one appealing as well! If I remember correctly, the proximity switch for the information on how to crash through obstacles was a lot smaller in the previous version, and this time it activated from a much more appropriate distance. Nice to see that heart at the start too

EDIT:
I think the thread title is spelled a bit wrongly?

I played this level a couple of days ago and it's a good level.

VISUALS:
The characters and design looked amazing. It is well decorated and nicely stickered. The lighting is clever, but may I suggest increase the radius of the light a bit in some areas?

SOUND:
Good custom music.

GAMEPLAY:
The controls of the bee are pretty good. The ramming, speeding, and lighting command are well put. I may have lost all lives, but it was worth a play. The only minor complaint is that it's pretty hard to know where you got hit by because of unexpected enemies, but as what you said, it requires a lot of observation.

OVERALL:
Good job, keep it up. A yay.

(sorry about my english)

Nice, relaxing and beautiful level. I really loved the visuals and the ligthning of the level. Gameplay was good, the bee was easy to control and reacts well.

Quick remarks :
- At one point of the level, you have to go behind some goo to continue, I didn't see that I can pass behind at first so I seached an other way.
- I think the way you placed the bubbles can be improved. It seems they where randomly placed in groups, but it could be better to place them in the shape of alveole (is it the word in english?), or along the path ? It's just a suggestion, don't have to do that if that's not what you wanted

Overall good level, loved id, hearted and yayed !

Thanks !

If you have the time to return F4F, please try my LittleBigManget level, the link is in my signature.

Just played it and its awesome!! The scenery and character design were superb. The bee handled/looked great and was easy to maneuver around. I liked how the whole level was cute and artsy a very original style. The camera style made everything look very flat thought that was a cool effect too. I didn't encounter any glitches or things i would recommend you change. The bubble placement was a bit random as mentioned before maybe you could add more combo point opportunities. Overall i give the level a 10/10 a yay and <3 =]

i played your level yesterday and left some feedback online as well.
great job with the visuals and the bee was easy to handle as well. it did remind me a bit of the psn download the undergarden.
good stuff look forward to seeing more of your levels.
If you get a chance check out my level "Nature's Solitude" it is more of a visual level with some elements of fun gameplay as well.

Beautiful level dude, such a relaxing aesthetic quality in the visula interface. I found everything very engaging, the combination of graphics, music and gameplay combined to make for a wonderful playing experience. Had trouble braking through the first wall in the tree dude to my lack of playing skills. The blossoming flowers were a nice mechanism reminding me of the PSN game flower which I loved but hated the six axis implementation on it. With a bit of extra layer front projection work the level could have greater depth without inhibiting play movement. Will play this again and recommend it to my buddies. Hearted.
