Should I get Fallout: New Vegas on PS3 or Xbox 360?

I'm getting Fallout New Vegas today and was wondering what console would it be better to play it with, PS3 or Xbox 360? | 2011-06-01 01:27:00 Author: TheDesertDrifter Posts: 72 |
To be honest - it's the difference between 6 and Half a dozen. There is no "lead" platform - though it was designed primarily for 360, they encountered programming difficulties on 360, PS3 and PC - so all are unstable and prone to crashes and bugs. See which console you can get it cheapest for... no point in paying more than you have to. | 2011-06-01 08:13:00 Author: Macnme Posts: 1970 |
I would go with the 360. The anti-aliasing is much better. They run pretty much the same as far as I know but 360 looks better. http://www.pcgames.de/screenshots/original/2010/10/new_vegas_vergleich_1.jpg Take a look at the table behind the guy in the above picture. PS3 version shows quite bad aliasing while the 360 is smooth. EDIT: Then again, the lighting looks better on PS3... | 2011-06-01 08:37:00 Author: Burrich Posts: 1018 |

And they're both pretty much the same. PC had the best version EDIT: Your link doesn't seem to work | 2011-06-01 19:15:00 Author: jeperty Posts: 486 |
I'm playing on ps3 with lots of freezes and my friend seems to have very little problems on xbox. | 2011-06-01 19:55:00 Author: BasketSnake Posts: 2391 |

Burr, that's not a 360 screen. It's a PC screen, and is clearly labeled as such. How on earth did you miss that? In terms of graphics, PC > PS3 > 360. It's a matter of processing power. So, PS3 version. And if you have any self respect, you'll go for the platinum. | 2011-06-02 01:24:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
Burr, that's not a 360 screen. It's a PC screen, and is clearly labeled as such. How on earth did you miss that? Did you not see the other two screens? The top screen is the PC one, the second (middle) screen is the PS3 (and you can clearly see the horrible aliasing on the table) and the bottom screen is the xbox screen. How on earth did you miss that? I'd go for the Xbox version. I've seen videos of both and have seen plenty of reviews and it's stated by many that the Xbox version is better. The game was also designed primarily for the Xbox 360. | 2011-06-02 02:51:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
WHOOPS. Thanks for pointing that out. It being such a large image, I thought I had seen it all when I looked at the second screen. Regardless, I'd point out that the bottom two images were shot in different places - what appears to be a less-smooth table is actually the result of standing further away. You can compare the seats instead, for a much fairer comparison. On the other hand, I would agree that the game was probably designed for the 360 (you can tell by the fact that it fits on one 360 disc ), so it's likely a little less buggy. All in all, it depends on how much you prefer your PS3. If you find your systems equal, I'd suggest the 360 version. | 2011-06-02 03:03:00 Author: Voltergeist Posts: 1702 |
The dude probably already bought his version long before we even started giving advice. Seeing as he posted a day ago and said he's going to go buy it today (which would be yesterday). And yeah that happened to me too. Gave it some time and saw there were more pictures in the link. | 2011-06-02 03:14:00 Author: Whalio Cappuccino Posts: 5250 |
