Question regarding material

A friend of mine made a full Godzilla out of "black matte wood", but when Godzilla jumps, his foot gets stuck in the ground and his legs start bouncing around like a rubber band. Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen and how to fix it??? | 2011-05-31 19:37:00 Author: Godzilla Posts: 224 |
It may be because of how you built the Godzilla... I don't know what to say, because I don't know the structure or switches/bolts/chips on your creation to know where the problem may be. Anyways if your Godzilla has a bolt or something on its leg, it might have been tweaked improperly. Or it just may be the shape of the foot that is causing the problem. Hope I Helped. | 2011-06-01 01:37:00 Author: Unknown User |
As for the foot getting stuck in the ground, I know I've done this lots of times: When an object is selected, and the selection button (X) is held down for a significant length of time, Create Mode glues that object to anything touching. Those things include anything adjacent in the same layer, anything in an adjoining layer - and even the floor, if it's nearby! Once the floor becomes glued to an object, that object remains fast-stuck there until - the object is selected, and the triangle button is pushed - the object is clone-copied (L3), and the original destroyed - the object is emit-copied (emitter), and the original destroyed If a knee joint were to try to lift the foot, the resulting forces could snap the leg in half! Or something. I'm not giant-lizard physician, by any means. | 2011-06-01 09:00:00 Author: The Manx Turtle Posts: 50 |
Well, I know the leg has wobble bolts in it. I will try to post a picture of it later (maybe that will help)............ | 2011-06-01 14:11:00 Author: Godzilla Posts: 224 |
Yep, wobble bolts do have problems like that, tweaking it has to be very precise, or it gets crazy. A picture would be very appreciated, thanks. Also, what would the shape of the foot be like? Does it have a sharp end? | 2011-06-02 02:48:00 Author: Unknown User |
Here are the pictures of the Godzilla that my friend has made. http://i1.lbp.me/img/ft/201a17b07db02617e23eb7021cc2d0f24974cfb1.jpg http://i7.lbp.me/img/ft/667bcc966f54d8af0fb043a815cebb8b7bb75e24.jpg I hope those pictures are good enough.... Thanks!!!! | 2011-06-06 06:23:00 Author: Godzilla Posts: 224 |
That is an impressive build! It's a little hard to see the logic components in your picture, but I do see some material tweakers. They aren't set to "sticky" are they? If they are, that might be why you're getting stuck to the floor. | 2011-06-06 17:30:00 Author: shane_danger Posts: 283 |
That's an Amazing Godzilla you got there. The problem should be in the wobble bolts... Also, you may want to check on the tail, because in the picture, it looks like it is literally touching the floor. It could have also been what shane_danger said, I sometimes flick my remote and accidentally change a setting on my creations. | 2011-06-07 02:12:00 Author: Unknown User |
